Firstly, did you know that sat navs have started to go live? TomTom have, in conjunction with Vodapone, introduced a sim card to their 'live' units. This allows you to retrieve live traffic information which may affect your journey. So, the unit will re-route you around the problems before you get stuck in them!
With millions and millions of mobile phones travelling all over the country all the time, each sending their whereabouts back to a computer, it has to be the best way of finding out what is happening!
The TomTom XL Live sat nav has been very popular and on Sunday 16th August at 10pm we have the all-singing, all-dancing TomTom Go 940 Live unit which has an FM transmitter, bluetooth phone connectivity and is voice controlled. I have just borrowed a sample to test out so will report back, but I think it's the business!
We also have a great software company due to air soon – look out Serif Web Plus, it's a rather fabulously easy piece of software. I tried it last night and in half an hour I had created a site with titles, a flash photo gallery, music and an active navigation bar controlling five pages (albeit with nothing in them).
I know nothing about HTML or web design and am not that experienced in these matters, but this was just like desktop publishing – drag a template down and modify. Very cool!
So, don't forget to join Craig, Ant, Pippa and myself for our Tech event mid August on QVC.
