Patio and table

Events this summer and Beauty Awards!

Luminara candles in a cage with hydrangea flowers at QVCHope you’ve all been having some lovely times over the summer.

I had a lovely birthday party in the middle of July where I invited old friends I hadn’t seen for ages. I rarely have a party at home due to the unpredictability of our weather in the summer, but I decided to take a chance.

Fortunately, whilst it wasn’t one of our hottest days, it did stay dry, so I was able to have it in the garden, as planned. I must just mention the amazing Luminara Candles, which I love that I used to light the garden.

I have been enjoying visiting some places in the UK for a change. I did my first trip to Dorset in years! And what a find! Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park!

If any of you have children or grandchildren and fancy a magical day somewhere that really knows how to

cater for visitors, with Woodland stream in Dorsetfantastic staff and facilities, this is the place. It’s really enchanting, and it set to become my new countryside getaway from London.

It has a charm and love to the place, so the whole family leave feeling refreshed and uplifted, not just the little ones. So, in my book worth a special visit, not just if you happen to be in Dorset. One for the ‘Places to go’ list…

I went to see Skylight last week. Such a terrific play, and beautifully acted. I worked with Bill Nighy at the National Theatre 21 years ago (gulp) on Arcadia.

I will always remember I had gone in to the National originally to cover the role of Chloe Coverly, and had that day been moving

Farmer Palmer's Tractor Tripadvisor award 2014house, as well as having been some seven weeks since an understudy run of the play, so you always hope the words are in there!

I was standing in the foyer ordering tickets at the Box Office just as the curtain went up. The company manager came to find me to tell me I would be on tonight as Harriet was ill, and would be taking over in the next scene!

This is where you earn your money. It’s not about doing anything heroic or great, it’s about simply facilitating the play to run as it should.

I changed into costume, said a prayer (probably!) and walked to stage left to join Bill Nighy to enter stage with him and begin

Farmer Palmersscene II! I the played the role for some time. Wonderful actor. Great memories.

Finally, it’s time to vote in our Beauty awards, if you haven’t already! You’ll probably guess that I’ll be voting for Radical Skincare, as my new favourite brand, given it’s my new skincare regime, but I’d have to mention tarte too if I was allowed two votes!!

Have you voted? Who will you be voting for? You can place your votes in lots of different categories here.

More news soon, but love to hear yours in the meantime…

Much love,

Sara x
