Emotional Weekend and Fashionable Feet

It was a busy weekend. I don’t think I’ll come down off the ceiling for another couple of weeks. On Friday, we moved my Mum and Father-in-Law out of the house they’ve lived in more than 60 years. It was the home that Austen, his brother and sister were brought up it. A truly magical place and it’s been a joy hearing about all the wonderful family memories that they have of GOBWAYN as it was affectionately known. But on to brighter beginnings and into a very stylish retirement village across town, and closer to Austen & I. It was a full-on day, but was a wonderful family occasion as the Duffys congregated to help unpack and settle them in on Friday and Saturday. Austen and I gave them a Peony bouquet to brighten up the room (it’s the Today’s Special Value this Thursday so make sure you tune in). Stella was over the moon because she’s visited Ruckley Hall – where the collections are created –  in the past and has always admired the brand

Here’s a video of the garden I did the week before – it will be sorely missed

And here’s Austen locking up before we handed the keys back to the Estate Agents

Then the very next day it was the turn of the Cole’s to get together and to celebrate my Mum’s special birthday. I organised a lunchtime party at a local restaurant for us and 8 of her friends so 19 of us in total. My nieces Natalie and Nadine organised a delicious cake for her (see video below) and I asked my friend Melissa of Blissful Balloons to organise decorations, chair covers, flowers and a red carpet for her. It was a fabulous afternoon honouring my incredible Mother. Mum’s also a Peony lover.

It was too rainy a day to get my fancy footwear out but I do have a passion for crazy footwear. You’ll see me sporting my bronze Vionics on QVC (I need to wear flat shoes more often than not now, because of my weakened knees).

And at last week’s Spring Fashion preview at QVC I spotted these gorgeous silver pumps by Clarks (hope I can get these to wear on air soon too)

Check out the other pretty clothes coming up:

What an emotional time for you – two ends of the scale – sad for your parents in law but celebrating with your mum. Enjoy your friends and family – life is not a rehearsal – grab it with both hands. God bless you lovely lady xxx

Hey Ann, lovely to hear from you. Yes Mum & Pa in law are so happy in their new home. And you come from the lovely town of Dudley: i used to go to a hairdressers there, near the bus station behind the Iceland on that little row of shops there. Loved Beatties as was: is it still there??? Lots of love and I’ll keep flying the flag for the WestMidlands x
