The Ellie update: part two

8

This week I’ll be posting more Ellie photos, hardly breaking news I know!

Thanks for all of your lovely comments last week, as you probably have noticed we have a new shiny Comments system that notifies me when I receive a blog comment and also makes it much easier and quicker for me to respond – so now I can read them all and hopefully not miss anyone out when replying! Let’s see! Huge apologies if I do.

QVC now on Sky 750

Surprise surprise, Ellie dominated the comments section and quite right too, as she is adorable ! but I was also thrilled that many comments included Toby.

Getting a second dog was the subject of a lot of family discussions at ‘Chez Franklin’ (Bonnet De Douche Rodders!) we batted around the pros and cons and decided we would go for it. I believe that deciding to get a dog is a serious consideration for a family and getting a second deserves the same amount of consideration – that said, I haven’t yet heard anyone tell me they regret getting a second, as each dog brings with it a personality of it’s own and – in our case – the early signs are that Toby and Ellie will become great pals and company for each other – time will tell.

Where's Ellie

Sleep time on mumAs both Ali and Jack asked: Would a second dog affect our relationship with Toby, who has been a total joy (apart from the Fox Poo episode!) since we first got him home nearly six years ago? Well, as I said last week, he has been given plenty of TLC since Ellie’s arrival and (at least for the next week) he still gets to walk alone with his Mum and Dad and doesn’t sleep in a puppy cage at night!

    Hi Dale,
As I said when you first put up some photographs of Ellie, she is gorgeous. Yes it is a big decision when getting another dog especially a puppy. Toby will soon be romping around with her, it will take time for him to get used to her as he has always had your attention on him. As I mentioned I have several dogs and I try to give them all the same amount of attention. As my husband say’s a home is not a home without a dog.
It is great to see Andi Peters’ back on QVC, he comes across as a lovely person so full of life. You two make a great pair.
Enjoy your time with Ellie and Toby.

Hello again Jean, You’re absolutely right on all points, Toby has warmed to her quicker than we expected and the family agreed that we would only get a second dog if we showed him equal attention – that was always the deal :) I’m enjoying the new “Andi Peters Food Fest show” and yes he’s great fun to work with and very professional – we really hit it off straight away. Hi I just have to say welcome to Ellie and hugs to Toby. We had a Bearded Collie called Daisy she went to Heaven five years ago and myself and my husband still drop a tear when we talk about her – it is funny though how we can now laugh at how how dining chairs were rendered dangerous due to the legs having been chewed down to resemble twigs! We have a Westie now as we no longer have a garden suitable for a large dog. We love Hattie to death and she too when the time comes will always be in our hearts. But there is something special that cannot be put into words about Bearded Collies they are so faithful, charming, cheeky oh I could go on and on and on.
I shall enjoy watching Ellie grow up – thank you Dale for letting us share both Ellie and Toby.

Hi Pam, I and every other “Beardie” owner (past & present) will understand your words – we had our 1st Beardie “Emma” for 16 years and when the time came for another dog in our lives it just had to be a “Beardie” (Toby) and then now we’ve decided on another dog – well you can guess the rest ! I will continue to share Toby and Ellie pics in my blog as long as the Q blog readers are happy to see them. :) Dale x

    Hello Dale,
Your new family member is absolutely adorable and good on Toby for agreeing to share the families love with her. I think they will be very happy together as long as she listens to her big brother. Look forward to many more photos of her as she grows up. Also I’m loving the shows you are doing with Andi Peters you two make me laugh so much. I hope QVC will have him back more often. Have a lovely weekend x
