Easter, the wedding and new great niece!

18

Debs with her new niece I do hope you had a happy Easter? What a long break! Do anything exciting? This week, I'm announcing my TiFFT for April – becoming a Great Aunt – well that's something you don't do for the first time every month!

Also – a bit of a picture gallery for you this week, a bit like a photo-diary of the last couple of weeks' adventures. Plus how me and my gang turned out like the Beverley Sisters on Royal Wedding Day – as well as a funny clip from one of our kitchen shows!

Easter surprises
Well it wasn't long before Easter that I became a Great Auntie for the first time – which means one of my siblings – my brother David – has become a granddad! Scary! Well at least that's some way away for me yet (I hope! Hehe).

Josh, Ashley and baby Here's a pic of the happy family – Ashley and Josh and new baby Abi-Grace. Can't think WHY she didn't take my advice of our ancestor's name Fanny! : – ) Lol. Still at least she named her after one of my puppies! Just kidding – our great aunt was Grace, hence the dog's name too. And it's a popular name at the moment I think.

I like Abi too – one of my best friends, a radio pal from Piccadilly Radio years ago, Abigail Bonell, inspired me so much that Bradley would have been Abigail had he been a girl. And out of interest, Lauren could have been Todd or Elliot, or a few years later would have been Bethany.

Actually even 21 years ago I knew she was going to be a girl, 'cos I overheard one of the midwives training a nurse, saying 'you can see it's XX' – they probably thought we all had pregnant brain and wouldn't realise I'd knew she meant chromosomes! Glad I knew tho, it made sorting out the nursery far easier.

Anyway this happy occasion just had to be my 'Try it for the First Time' club event of the month, didn't it! Watch out for a fascinating one for May – have already done it – it concerns learning how to do something really important, very fast! Can you guess?

Fiance and fiancee
Bradley's fiancee Kari, Brad, Lauren and Debs Over the break we also had a big family get together to mark the engagement of my little boy (not!) Brad to his lovely lady Kari. It was quite a turn out. Considering there are 15 cousins now, and most of them came, plus many of Kari's family, it's a wonder the Windmill in Dorking could cope!

Congrats once again to them and hugs to everyone who came along, including proud 'Nanny' Alison – Ashley's mum, and proud 'grandnana' Lesley – my mum! Four generations! And now with Kari in the fold as a new 'daughter in law' this is my own little extended family!

Red, white and 'Oo'!
In red, white and blue Had to mention the Royal Wedding of course, didn't I! Had a small bunch of relatives over on the morning to watch it all live – and did shed a tear – as my Facebook pals will know – when William mouthed 'you look beautiful' at the altar! Ahhhh! What was your favourite moment?

We said 'wear red, white and blue' – but quite by accident three of us – my sister Family playing Scrabble in the sun Linda, me and niece Chloe, all wore navy jeans, white tops and red cardis – funny! Then we all played board games outside in the lovely weather – weren't we lucky the rain held off? Me and brother Glenn won – despite a debate about whether the word 'Triton' should be allowed!

When I got to work late that night, it was fun to see how the backstage team led by our lovely floor manager Vanessa and co , had decorated the prep room – QVC prep room where we keep all the products before they go on air! If you remember the Santa's Grotto at Christmas? Well they excelled themselves with a clever wall 'muriel'! Colourful and wonderful – just like the Royal Wedding itself! Who knows, maybe I'll get my own special kiss sometime soon! (Actually one of the guests might be helping me in that – more news soon!)

Kitchen capers

Actually I quite like capers – did some homemade sauce at the weekend, when we ran out of tartare! Hehe. Inspired by Simon Brown of course – he's so good in the kitchen. Mind you, the other day on air, we were both a bit hungry when we did a tea-time show, and the TSV microwave 'grill' had made a tasty, crunchy, toastie (trying saying that fast!) which I couldn't resist munching on air and made him jealous! Lol. But it did give rise to some giggles – I've put the moment here for you to raise a smile!

Anyway must go – still got to finish my story for my mid-May self-imposed deadline and trip to Devon to see writing friend! And am looking forward to trying out the Alpha-H Today's Special Value next week – have just begun trialling it – love the hydrating cream – face skin so soft this morning! Anyone tried it, leave a comment and let me know how it's worked for you too!

Best wishes and have a great weekend! Am going to a Deepak Chopra talk in London on Saturday for an early birthday celebration (10th) and back on air Sunday night with a fab craft TSV!

Luv,
Debs

Hi Debs and congrats on becoming a Great Aunt – I’m sure you will be too lol! Saw your TIFTFT on Facebook and am glad you enjoyed it – we could hold a speed reading competition cos I can read really fast – just ask my other half who can’t believe how many books I can read in a week! Last time I had a week off work I had just started my 8th book by the Monday I was due to go back! Enjoy your trip to see Deepak and have a wonderful birthday – will send you a card to QVC.
    Lots of love

As for the wedding, I’m pleased it went so smoothly and without any problems and guess the day was summed up by the cartwheeling verger(Youtube).
Happy Birthday (21 again no doubt !), Nige

    Hi Debs
Congratulations on becoming a great aunt.I really enjoyed the royal wedding and shed a tear or two as well, when Catherine asked William if he was happy when they first went into their carriage after the ceremony and he replied yes – i melted. I wish them both well and am looking forward to a new baby in the next couple of years. I’m just about to start a Sumba session(i think) – i received my Sumba TSV yesterday but its a toss up with my OPI TSV(received this morning) as i might do a mani/pedicure – i was in a high street chemist(opposite of shoes!!)yesterday and was shocked at the price of OPI Nail Envy/Avoplex oil!! around £18 EACH!! and as you know we can buy a Nail Envy/Avoplex oil duo for £19 plus p&p on QVC(i recently stocked up with three sets and am delighted with the saving – thanks QVC).The weather in Glasgow over the last couple of weeks has been great(as i believe it has been down south)but unfortunately we’re dealing with cloud and rain today. The mani/pedi has won the toss – i’ll do a Sumba session later today – now what colour in the OPI TSV will i pick?Your fav “You dont know Jacques”?,Houston we have a Purple or Guy meets Gal-veston – decisions decisions eh!! Speaking of guys meeting gals whats this about a guest helping you with a kiss!! now i’m looking forward to you spilling the beans,is it a new romance? or a new QVC product your presenting? Cant wait – i love a bit of gossip. I was watching Psychic Sally on the Road(Living TV) the other night and you and your sister(Linda?)received a message from your lovely dad – how wonderful – i’ve also had a message(another psychic though) from my dear daddy and the info in the message included things only me and dad would know!!- amazing. Isn’t Sally brilliant and so down to earth and approachable – just like yourselfXX Lovely speaking to you again Debs.Love Linda,Glasgow

    Hi Debs
If you recall, I asked you about fashion for my petite size (4-6)and, although I didn’t see the show, the sizing for the Annalee + Hope collection is quoted on the website as starting at 26.5″. This seems ideal for me, but I have a feeling this may be an error. Would it be possible for you to confirm the sizes for me?
Hope you and the guys are all keeping well.
    Take care and speak soon.
    Louise.

Hi Great Aunt Debbie, Many Congratulations your baby niece she looks so cute.
My favourite bit of the royal wedding was when the couple came onto the balcony and Kate went wow, just so natural, i banned my father and hubby out of the kitchen so i could watch the tv in peace without stupid men comments!!
I loved the video clip you seem to have such fun on qvc, the cooking shows i really enjoy the most.
Well have a safe trip to Devon and very happy birthday for next week!!
Michelle and gang from sunny Wales.
    Hope the pogs are ok.
