Easter holiday safari fun!

Ann the elephant at Longleat Hiya,

Hope all is well with you. The school Easter holidays flew by didn't they? We had some fabulous family days out. We stayed with grandparents in Somerset (we come as a package when we visit, including our two hamsters!)

A real highlight of our stay without a doubt, was the day trip to the world famous Longleat Safari and Adventure Park. Worth every penny -simply a brilliant time!

Monkey on the car For my children, the monkey drive through was definitely the icing on the cake. If you have a nice car, which you want to keep intact, you'll be pleased to hear that the drive through with the monkeys is optional! A couple of monkeys clambered over our car and had a great time chewing our car aerial. We have the tooth marks as evidence!

However, we got off lightly (to the slight disappointment of my children) A car ahead of us had its aerial unscrewed and whisked away and another car had some of the trim removed!

Tiger at Longleat We also drove among lions, giraffes, deer, tigers and rhinos – just fabulous to be up so close and personal. We moved on round and saw world famous Ann the elephant (pictured above), who of course has featured heavily in the news recently. She's adorable. My Mum loves elephants so I've printed off a pic for her.

Deer at Longleat After the drive we took a small train ride and saw Gorilla Island and then back to the main house for all the other attractions… including snake and tarantula handling! I highly, highly recommend a visit… but watch out for the monkeys!!!

Take care and see you soon

Charlie x

    Hi Charlie
Longleat looks amazing.Pity I live up here in Scotland.Did you take the photos yourself? My favourites are the deer.We are lucky enough to see a family of deer nearly every day right outside our large kitchen window. What a truly wonderful thing to watch especially when your sitting at breakfast.I just love the deer.We also have a deer farm and ostrich farm not too far from where we live aswell.Beautiful creatures I’m sure you’ll agree Charlie.Anyway I enjoyed your blog again, please keep them coming. x

Hi Charlie, Longleat is great. A few years ago I camped there while my hubby marshalled a car race event. Imagine, lying in a tent listening to lions roaring and seals honking at 3 in the morning. Quite surreal. So, when is the next Charlie and Dale show? Such fun. X

    Hi Sylvia.
Your home sounds like it’s in a wonderful place. Outside my kitchen window we are regularly visited by a magpie who spends much of his time in the bird bath! And a while ago I found an enourmous frog (maybe toad) when gardening!
    take care
