An Easter smile

Hi all

I seem to have blinked and Easter has appeared, not that I mind as with all the daffodils everywhere, it really is quite a delight AND the sun has even warmed up (when it pops out from behind the clouds)! I’ve been cleaning windows with my Showroom Shine glass cleaner, steaming the floor with my H20 and scrubbing the bathrooms with my ItWorks blocks (….where would I/we be without QVC??!!) We are also in the process of choosing a colour to paint our bedroom, I shared the current options on Twitter to varied reactions which was hilarious. I do love social media as we can all have random interactions not just on air but also at other times too so please if you fancy taking part do join in with me @Pipalive

Anyway, here’s something to make you smile. Earlier this week, I was driving through a local village and noticed that various trees were wrapped up in knitted bits and bobs!! As I got closer, I saw a little note saying that it was the WI Pixies!!! It was a really fantastic way to spread a bit of joy around. I love the WI and all it does, I think the majority of us have great WI experiences that we treasure from over the years and the great British institution continues its tradition of support, community and sharing together. Click here to read more about them and their fabulous work near you. The website alone shares recipes, crafting ideas, highlights their campaign work, all sorts! There are competitions, classes you can join for writing, photography, drama, walking, dancing, even circus skills… the list goes on and on of what they offer across the country. It’s an excellent body to get involved with and I love seeing it alive and kicking around my locality!

So the Easter holidays have arrived. The plan for us is Easter weekend with my sister down in Horsham and then off to the great British seaside for a week… I’m hopeful for sunshine but planning on packing wellies and anoraks, and gloves and scarves! It’ll be great fun no matter what the weather does, sometimes just the change of scenery and some fresh sea air is just the ticket! My Mum always used to say that a walk along the beach could blow all the cobwebs away and she wasn’t wrong!

I hope you have a lovely Easter weekend

Much love

Hi Pipa my husband and I were married at Easter. Our anniversary is to morrow. I knit blankets for the dog rescue centre. Have lovely time. X

Hi Christine, I hope you had a lovely anniversary with your husband. How fabulous that you give your time for the poor abandoned doggies, that’s very kind of you xxx

In line with Ann-Marie Mason’s theory that “If you don’t ask, you don’t get”, would you consider doing a Top Ten about love in the middle years (ahem). So many ladies get traded in for a younger model when they’re in their late 30’s and 40’s an being single when you’re slightly older isn’t as easy as it was in your 20’s and 30’s. I’d be interested on your thoughts on how you went about this transition in your life and how you got your head around things.

Thank you so much, and all good wishes to you and your family (and animals). xx

Hi Susanne, now there’s an ask! I have to say it’s definitely been a bumpy path full of twists and turns but I would be more than happy to get my head down on this one. I don’t think it’ll be an overnight piece so please give me some time and I will do my best to get down on “paper” what I have learned so far xx

Thanks Susan, yes we had a lovely time thank you ….although my sister’s beagle had what’s called a “hot spot” on her neck which was oozing all kinds of blood and gore, thankfully Brian (my better half for these kinds of things) did all the salt water washing etc but it did somewhat temper my Easter appetite!! lol!! I don’t think it bothered the children for a second though as they devoured all their findings from the easter egg hunt! xx

    Hi Pipa,

It’s called Yarn Bombing! Very descriptive I thought. Isn’t it lovely when people take time just to raise a smile in a total stranger? I hope your stay on the South Coast wasn’t too windy; I live there and lost part of my garage roof….at least it wasn’t the house! Hope you and your family and fab dog had a lovely time. Looking forward to seeing you on air again soon.

    Best wishes,

    Nikki x

ha ha is it really???? I absolutely love it when people take the time to raise a smile in a total stranger, it’s a very kind and generous act …we need more of it! Sorry to hear about your garage roof, what a nightmare! In the midlands we almost lost a fence panel and some of our trellis came down but otherwise were unscathed. We spent some time down in Somerset too but thankfully arrived just as Storm Katie left!! xx
