I hope you’re well and enjoying what is supposed to be British springtime? I’m afraid it still feels like winter to me, but I’m told the Easter Bunny will be paying a visit this weekend come rain or come shine.
This Easter weekend on QVC we will be showcasing some of our great, well-known high street brands as well as our exclusive ranges. There’ll be a little something for everyone from gardeners to jewellery lovers and culinary artists. I’m thrilled to have an hour of Molton Brown on Saturday at 9pm with lots of brand new treats to enjoy (spent a small fortune last time I was on with them – oops!). Look out for Easter surprises along the way, too.
Sunday night at midnight I have the pleasure of launching our Founders Day event. The 6th of April is the day we celebrate the founding of QVC in the UK. Founders Day marks the beginning of QVC UK’s 22nd anniversary year, so to celebrate this and reward our customers (I count myself as one of our most dedicated customers, heehee) we are offering free P&P on all on-air items and selected internet lines over the 24 hour period with a three day free P&P extension on the web! That’s cause for celebration!
The Today’s Special Value is from Vionic footwear. We are featuring a fabulous price, of course, for a very versatile pair of adjustable slip-on sandals. Ideal for spring and summer walks, holidays and even perfect for pedicure appointments as they don’t cover the toenails, meaning you won’t ruin your perfect pedicure on the way home from getting your tootsies spring/summer ready! They are lovely and lightweight yet provide underfoot support to help keep the feet in optimal alignment for foot health and comfort. I have particularly troublesome feet so really appreciate the support these provide.
Those of you who follow me on twitter (if you don’t, please do, I’m @TheHuntley) will have already met Steve the cat.
He’s caused quite a stir! My daughter’s best friend has recently adopted him and, of course, Momma Huntley got an invite to go and meet him. Meg, Chrissie’s friend, knows I’m cat crazy like she is, so has kindly tolerated my squeaking, squealing and other delighted noises upon meeting him. He really is adorable. My daughter cried at his cuteness when she first saw him! Bless. He got into my shoes and firmly into my heart.
I dare you not to fall in love with him. Black cats often get overlooked for adoption but they are simply wonderful so if you’re considering adopting please give them a look in. After lots of playing with me he fell fast asleep on my *ahem* bosom. I really didn’t want to leave but I managed to tear myself away.
So, from cats sleeping on bosom shelves to loving the ‘Boobs’. I don’t have footage of this little faux pas but thought I’d share the jist of it with you as it had a few people chuckling and was a perfectly innocent mistake. I was presenting Bose sound systems (I’m such a fan I can’t even begin to express how fab I think they are) and as you can see I have invested in a mini soundlink so I can enjoy it on my building site.
I was saying how great it is listening to Michael Bublé and enthused (as one might abbreviate the name Beyonce to leave off the ‘on-say’ sound at the end) saying ‘you just gotta love the Boobs’ – obviously meaning the Bublé! I suppose it could be been worse…The Boobmeister? Boobtastic? Boobalicious? Yeah… well I got the giggles, as did my team of very mature colleagues in the gallery. Thank goodness for the ever professional Ashley Turrell from Bose who carried on seamlessly – Ash, you’re a star.
Well, here’s to a wonderful weekend whatever your plans are. If it involves chocolate then I hope you enjoy that, too. Everything in moderation, wink wink.
See you soon,
Love Catherine x
