Tellyhubby Time! Lee and Debbie Do Dinner
Had a lovely evening over at one of my best pal’s place in Docklands this week – lovely Lee helped me sort out some laptop issues and set me up with a Surfeasy plug in on every device! Ready for my China trip – gosh it’s next weekend! (Saturday 11th – 2nd May). I brought dinner (thanks #helloFresh – again!) and he concocted a really tasty lasagna – it was a bit crispy but that made it all the nicer, with spinach and toasted pine nuts – yum! Then we put the world to rights – ok, we had a gossip! A good night was had by all!
Coconut Crazy – Caroline’s Recipes, as Promised!
Caroline Sandry is such a fab guest – not only is she a celebrity trainer, and of course ex QVC model in the early days, but she also guested a brilliant coconut oil/water/ sugar alternative pack on QVC this week – whilst it’s still in stock it’s 804037. Well the recipes she showed on air with Jill were amazing – I sneaked on afterwards and had a little taste – then bought the kit! As promised the recipes are all available by clicking on this link to my blog on my website – you’ll find –
- Apple and almond cake with coconut
- Coconut choc brownies
- And butterbean, coconut and squash curry
Just click here to read them and let me know if you use any yourself – just comment below!
Bodyblading Bonanza! Hampton Court Super Circuits and Willow Wobble Workout!
What a fabulous week, including spending time with lovely Bruce from Bodyblade when we went to record our latest new routine at Hampton Court and stopped off for a nice cuppa afterwards with one of our lovely ladies, Anne Keating. And then doing another full hour with him on QVC UK on Saturday night. It was a great example of reaching the tipping point, ie so many people discussing this amazing fitness device now, including on social media.
I thought I’d do a bit of a focus for those who didn’t realise how many ways you can get support and join in online with all the various groups and blogs. Here’s a summary.
Hampton Court circuits, sequence, coffee and catch up.
I must say growing up, Hampton Court was one of my favourite places to be, and from Merton where I went to school it didn’t take too long to get there for day trips. So when we were considering which venue to use for the next variation video, it was a simple choice. Shame it was so cold but at least the sun came out for the second one. I like the look of the second one – I think we’ll have to do it to music at some point! Anne Keating one of our lovely Back to You regulars kindly came down with an extra Bodyblade for Bruce and joined in. Anyway I’ve put the whole lot – every current top YouTube clip from Bruce and me, and from Bruce solo, into one blog – on this link.
And meanwhile here’s one of them – this is a more balletic sequence workout, using different muscles in a combination five-minute routine, dubbed the Willow Workout Wobble by the girls on the Facebook group! They all do a virtual workout class at the same time all together, every Monday night after Bruce’s latest web chat.

Bruce explains all
Bruce said this about why Bodyblade works so well –
“OK, so how can an airplane that weighs 112 tons, or 348,000 kilograms actually fly. The answer is all in the physics. It’s called Bernoulli”s Principles. Has to do with fluid dynamics and “lift”. The shape of the wing creates lift so the pressure under the wing is greater than the top of the wing so it pushes the plane up. You can’t see it with the naked eye yet we see these monster aircraft take off and fly in the sky. Bodyblade looks like a flapping stick but the flex in the blade and the physics involved are every bit as real as those that make a plane fly. They are the laws of Inertia from Sir Issac Newton.”
So the next time your cynical loved one says ‘how can that stick really be doing any good’ tell them that! And then get them to do the hip and thigh No6 exercise – for a full minute! Lol!
Below you will see the link to my latest webchats with Bruce from this Monday 30th March. And Abi Cleeve from Ultrasun took the stage with advice on combining her genius ‘once a day sun protection’ with other products, and shared her own beauty routines too.
The Bodyblade QVC Facebook group now tops 1200 members, Back to You QVC group has over 3080 and Till the Fat Lady Slims group another 620 or more. It means there are some superb supportive environments for us all to make use of to keep on track and not feel alone in the quest to get healthy. (Links to all are at bottom of this blog or at the bottom of the website blog here.)
Back to You Update – whilst I’m away…
Luckily whilst I’m away, the Back to You QVC support won’t end! There’s be lots happening in the next few weeks – my lovely pal Sharon voluntarily admins and helps me keep the groups running smoothly and she will be overseeing as usual whilst I’m away in China. Mally was crazy this week it was great fun – had a funny blooper – see below – and she’s asked to come back on for another webchat probably in May.
Here’s a little list of who’s on when – it’s amazing how well this weekly online chat with some of my mates has taken off! If you’d like to join in, just ping a request to join the group to the Back to You QVC Facebook group here.
Webchats ahead – tbc –

TTFLS update – latest testimonials
I love the shares and posts that some people put on our groups. This week lots of lovely ladies have had some major losses, wins and success stories again! Some ladies on my group were 25stone but are happily losing, using Freedom Eating from ‘Till the Fat Lady Slims 2.0’ book – go here to find out all about it on my website, plus many are using exercise like Bodyblade, or Leslie Sansone walking DVD’s too. Also see below for news of this month’s comp incl a signed copy of my book!
Lesley is amazing – this is her little freebie video you can do at home especially for National Walking Day in the US – first Wed in April. Click here to watch it. Hopefully when she’s back later in the year (no news currently of when) she will do a web chat for me!
And well done this week to lovely regular, Amy Wall, who has lost another 5 inches overall. Many don’t do weighing, we go for ‘Non-Scales Victories’ as well. Come join us! (group – click here; page – anyone can view – inc Tips of the Day – click here.)
YBF group news – of course there are lots of other groups on social media, where you find out news first. YBF Beauty had this post this week – hope all is well with Stacey and we will see her later in the spring.
So many people keep asking when is Red Carpet Manicure back on! I’m happy to announce it is with Kathy Tayler in the Morning Show on Thursday 9th at 9am – that’s the plan! Go back to read the last two blogs on here to see the little teasers of what’s in it – fab value, as my sis Linda tweeted this week! Don’t miss it! Watch this video here to find out more about their collection!
Watch – so it has to be Cinderella – number one at the box office and I can’t wait to see it – when I get time! Too busy getting everything sorted before my big China adventure! But Lily James (from Downton Abbey), Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter make it look promising in this live action true to story remake from Disney. Not sure about the Prince but love the look of this trailer. Let me know if you’ve seen it what you gave it! And remember the sparkly blue lamp and blue varnish in the RCM set are specially for Cinders’ fabbie dress!
Second Wind Well the clocks changed – better light in the evenings which is lovely – but I’m awake at 11pm till when I get my second wind! Eeek! Got to start going to bed earlier for China – our 6pm is their 2am! How do you cope with the clocks changing? I wish they’d keep it this time all year round, don’t you?
Weird Gloves Alert OK so when I’m up late I’m mostly doing my writing – at the moment it’s the next novel, called French or Dutch, (Downton Abbey meets Call the Midwife) and it gets cold! Realised, as I nursed a blimmin cold this week, that if my hands are cold I sneeze. So – here’s the solution – with a pair of cotton gloves – I can still type and my hands stay warm. You could do this in all sorts of situations, couldn’t you. Might get some funny looks, but worth a go! Haha!
Teapot full of Plant And whilst writing – what’s better to refresh you than a … plant pot – but no ordinary one! A tea pot full of a flower! Lol. Have you ever seen these? Or tasted the tea? I love them. They begin as tiny hard balls and blossom in hot water to this. Kept me going for hours that did, with the fragrant taste of jasmine. Yum!
RiWiSi – on this week’s reading it write it sell it, I’ve written a guest blog on prestigious writing website of the Verulum Writing Circle, about what makes a good audiobook narrator. Plus 5 literary sex scenes you’ve never read before. And Book of the Week is Outlander 7 – ‘An echo in the bone.’ And TACOM reviewed!
Go here to read it all on my RiWiSi blog over on my website.
And if you’re after a good book for your hols, remember ‘Take a Chance on Me,’ my steamy romance, is now available on Kobo, i-Tunes etc. More info on my publisher’s website. Do let me know what you think! Remember it was originally called Hawaiian Affair and there are two more where that came from! Hawaiian Escape and Hawaiian Retreat. Another review is on my RiWiSi blog too.
‘Take a Chance on Me – bit steamy; bit funny; bit mystery. One of a trilogy. More here.’
Children’s TV Nostalgia #3
Continuing the reminiscing and vintage kids telly links – Irwin Allen’s Lost in Spaaaace – OMG I was in love with Will Robinson (the unlikely names ‘Billy Mumy!’)! – We all loved Zachary Smith and his insults to The Robot – ‘never fear, Smith is here!’ remember when it went from black and white to colour? 83 episodes aired from ‘65. Remember the tag line? ‘To be continued next week – same time, same channel!’ And early John Williams famous music.
Watch a clip here –
Time tunnel – OMG one of my favourites of all time – with ‘Tony Newman and Doug Phillips’ – this is from 1966 but got played through the seventies too!
Land of the giants Remember this? Here’s a rare TV promo.
And my ‘boyfriend’ from when I was about 8, Marine Boy – that famous music from the iconic manga cartoon is here and a clip featuring the thing we all used to love play-acting, oxygum – chew it and you could breathe under water! Lol!
Peony Faux Flower Fest – Julia and I both received a lovely treat this week when Julie from Peony Flowers sent us some fabulous blooms – here are mine – I have one in every room at home now I think and one in my dressing room at work! So many people think they are real! And they are fab of course for little rooms with no light, eg downstairs cloakroom etc. I’m looking forward to my 2pm show, on next Monday (6th). And don’t forget we’re hoping to have Julie on our webchat in the next month or so!
Sneaky peek – Michele Hope fans! On 7th and 8th (Tue and Wed) our lovely home grown designer has lots of 15th anniversary shows with free p&p – get a sneaky peek via this link here!
Shhh! If you love Vax don’t miss our 11pm show on Monday (6th) where Ali Keenan has a one show only type bargain! Whoop!
BLOOPER! A funny from Mally during our two hour special on Sunday – Racoon trouble – she’s so funny!
This weekend – it’s a big one for the garden. Did I hear it’s going to be sunny on Monday at least? Mum’s coming over to spend some time with me – around about now we usually do all my hanging baskets so hope rain won’t stop play! But if it does we’ll be indoors binge-watching Outlander!
Good Friday – Today’s Special Value is fab garden furniture; Saturday sees the return of the fab Kitchen Aid and Easter Sunday is all about the garden with Richard and the Stretch 100ft hose TSV!
And there’s a special day on Easter Monday as we celebrate when QVC was first incorporated – I’m on on Founders Day including with the Vionics TSV Viviana Jewelled Slip on Sandal at 3pm. But I’m looking forward to the Peony show at 2pm! (see above). NB QVC Extra is running a ‘plus one’ service all day from 10am – Monday night at 1am, so anything you’ve missed you can see it the next hour over on our sister channel. Yay! Then my final day before my long trip is Friday 10th, when I’m on for Fashion Day (10th) including with my lovey mate Ingrid at 2pm!
Competition – as usual, just leave a comment below saying you’d like to enter, and out of interest let me know which prize you’d most like and why. Read the full T&C’s here, the competition closes midday Thursday 9th April. You could win but a Flora Mare skincare collection, a bottle of Alpha H’s Liquid Gold plus a signed copy of my book! Do let me know who you’d like it signed to in case you win! Results next week – Good luck!
Next week – will be my last blog before I leave for China for three weeks to help train QVC presenters. Am very excited and getting VISA etc sorted out. The worst thing about that was having new pics taken for the VISA in a photo booth in Dorking post office. I looked ok in the reflection in the glass, well, you do, don’t you. But what came out on the sheet of four pics was astonishingly scary! Just shows what good lighting can do when people say we look good on the telly! Lol!
Anyway have a fab week and don’t forget to join up to the online groups or my website newsletter so you never have to miss a thing! Have a lovely Easter too!
