Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer

Dyson dilemma

5

Hi everyone!

Hope you’re all well and looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend ahead. We certainly are and I’ll be in that QVC garden with Mr Richard Jackson first thing both Saturday and Sunday!! Looking forward to Monday too though with all the Big Brand hours we are bringing you. I’ll be with you in the morning with brands such as Peony, Samsung, Yankee Candle, Acer and Skechers… to name just a few!!

Dyson hairdryer

Talking of mega huge brands (and the title of my blog) I would like to talk about a bit of a dilemma I’ve been going through since about Christmas. Dyson! Not the vacuum cleaners (love my V6), nor the Dyson hot and cold fan (please see previous blog for waxing lyrical on that one)… but the Dyson Hairdryer!! Very much a considered purchase but I have been holding back on this one.

Let me tell you why.

I’ve seen all the demos, done the shows, heard all about the design and technology, but from someone who has the patience and attention span of a gnat when it comes to styling hair (not sure exactly how long a gnat’s attention span actually is by the way!), I simply had to experience it for myself. You’ve no doubt heard of the expression “point and click” when it comes to computer technology? Well I’m very much a “point and style” person when it comes to blow drying my hair! I expect the dryer to magically engage with my hair and brush, ensuring a “just left the salon” look suddenly appears.

Well, not even the Dyson can muster that… but I have to say, I am suitably impressed, it comes very close!!

One of the many reasons I hate blow drying my hair is how awkward it can be. Having had operations on both shoulders I can find a lot of hairdryers very heavy – not the Dyson! I could have held it in position in those difficult areas much longer, but simply didn’t have to. This is seriously FAST!! Soaking hair to a sleek finish in under 10 minutes, and I’m really not the best.

I then decided to let my son’s girlfriend try it. Anna has beautiful long hair and so I thought she’d be the perfect candidate (except now she wants one too!!). Utterly amazing! Please see the accompanying evidence – very long damp hair (towel dried) fully styled in 7 minutes!! (She’s clearly much better than me, but even so!!) She reckoned she could rough dry her hair with this in about 3/4 minutes.

This is one powerful piece of equipment. And just to illustrate the point (and hopefully make you smile too) please see my son’s contribution to the Dyson story!

Just watching the segment on the Dyson hairdryer (26.05.18 @ 01.20 on QVC Beauty) Never have I seen so many gorgeous models and presenters! I have no need for a hairdryer but I simply can’t change channels due to all the amazing eye candy. Keep up the sterling work.
