Dogs Day Out! Plus come meet me and Patrick Hoy.

8

Wow the sun came out this week and it was soooo warm down in Devon! See some of the funnies and antics below. Plus – if you’re near Milton Keynes this Sunday, come to Dogs Day Out at Swanbourne and meet me and Patrick Hoy on the MDD stand, roughly 11-4 – more here.

Then I’m looking forward to Sunday night on QVC – I have the fabulous Bruce Bodyblade for a whole hour at 8pm, and at 11pm, the amazing ammolite collection of fossil based jewellery. Check out the new reviews for Bodyblade – the most amazing exercise gadget ever, by clicking here. And here’s one review, showing anyone can do it.!

“I hate workouts and prefer walking, a lot! but this has surpassed all expectations for both of us, for Mum in her fifties and me in my thirties. I cannot wait for our daily workout and I honestly mean that.”

Mother’s Day

Had the most lovely Mother’s Day celebrations last weekend – some lovely pressies and a super lunch in Esher with my kids and co, followed by another get together with siblings for my own mum’s meetup. Hope you had a nice time too – and sending thoughts to those of you who, like me with no dad on Father’s’ day – find it always a little hard.

SNIPPETS

Derek the MDD dog ‘pup-date’  – i’m very excited to see the Medical Detection Dogs puppies at the Dogs Day Out this weekend – and also to catching up with Derek my little sponsor pup, (who I named after my late dad.) His latest update is here on my website – with the cutest pic – he’s such a big boy now! Go here to see it.

Quack-tabulous And talking of Patrick Hoy, who is coming to the dogs’ bash – I’ve got a lovely Quacker show next weekend – join us on QVC at 2pm on Sunday (9th) – meanwhile go here to see some of the fab new fashion items before anyone else sees them!

Ghost in the Kitchen Floor? Is there a ghost in my kitchen?! Actually more like a skull… Caught a picture of Gracie dog being photo bombed by a weird face in the Pawprint we made in the grouting on the kitchen floor, and realised it looked just like a skull! It had just got wet and it disappeared when it dried. Spooky though!

Health Hero One of my health heroes is Prof Robert Lustig, I have seen him talk in London. This is a very thought-provoking article, type in the search words and you will probably find it. Don’t forget to watch his excellent YouTube video ‘sugar the bitter truth.’ That sweet stuff certainly grabs you and when it grabs you it’s hard to get out! But if you love it join me tonight at 7pm for a Easter themed ‘Eat, Taste, Love!’. Then I really am going to go on a stint of cutting back on sugar again, I blame Wendy and her delicious puddings down in Devon ha ha. Moderation is key eh?

Tommy and his chopper-upper Bought this Greenworks saw at the weekend, mainly because of Tommy the guest and his demo sawing thru a nine inch log, ha ha!

Surrey Life’s Culture Vulture What would your answers be? Was very pleased to be featured this month in Surrey Life’s regular culture pages – and a mention for Till the Fat Lady Slims book too! #Chuffed! PS if you get a copy, do save one for me – mum pinched it! Lol.

Better Baking  Phew! This week after a bit more practice, I produced the best bread ever, the best banana bread ever, and the best flapjack I’ve ever made. According to the tasting panel here in Devon, anyway! Well it can’t get much worse than last week’s effort! Did you see the video? If not read last week’s blog.

Dish of the Week, this delicious butternut squash recipe, with an interesting treatment of kale. My daughter sent the recipe to me and it involves massaging the kale ha ha! Seriously, you make up the sauce including tahini, lemon juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, oil etc and literally rub it into the kale for ten minutes.

Then you leave it for an hour and it softens it up! It was absolutely delicious and went down a treat, this week at the retreat. More info here on retreats for you which I help to run in Sheepwash Devon. If you have any recipes for us to try, email them to me info@retreatsforyou.co.uk .

Amazing Photo  When I left home, my dad gave me his SLR camera and I spent many happy days taking some nice shots. Nowadays it’s all about camera phones, mainly isn’t it. Well look at this super pic!

Fancy a photography workshop? Look at this amazing photograph. It was taken by JoJo, a local award winning photographer lady who is going to do a photography workshop for me at RFY at the start of August. People will come spend a weekend learning about how to take great shots and use your camera properly. Hope I can go too – it’ll be nice to get back to taking good pics with a proper camera! We did one recently – Mat Trim’s explanation about it is here. If you have any pics you are particularly proud of, do post them on my Facebook page here (and do ‘like’ it to get all my updates, including the early bird order links first!) or email me info@debbieflint.com .

This week’s newsletter – OMG go see what I picked up in the road in Belstone this week – you won’t believe what I tucked behind my arm! Lol. Go here for my regular website update, (scroll down) plus book of the week news will include the chance to win a stay at the writing retreat courtesy of BluePencilAgency.com.

Watch – Beauty and the Beast – a massive nine out of ten from me – mainly because of the sheer comic genius of Gaston and LeFou – namely Luke Evans (who is outstanding) and Josh Gad. Had me laughing out loud LOADS! Plus one of my faves ever – Kevin Kline – as well as Emma Thompson (guess which character she plays – you don’t find out till the end!) LOVED IT!! Do go – it’s not a kids thing, it transcends and deserves the accolades it’s been getting!

This week on QVC
Join us tomorrow (1st April) for the most amazing Elemis Today’s Special Value – it’s INCREDIBLE value – really – totally astounding! Go here to get it on my early bird link!

Other offers from the next seven days include: Sunday’s Aerobed Luxury Airbed – more on Miceal’s blog!

Then on Monday we have Ultrasun’s first TSV of the year – more in Will’s blog. And then next Friday I’ll be joined by Kim who is bringing us a jumpsuit in the choice of two lengths (petite and regular).

Sneaky peek – We have the most amazing deal on the next KitchenAid Artisan mixer – around £165 saving – join us on 4th April! Used my KitchenAid to make my banana bread this week – best yet, and it definitely made a difference!

Fashion Day – QVC are bringing you their summer collection on the 7th and 8th April– including new pieces from Quacker Factory, Clarks, MarlaWynne and more!

Best wishes

Great blog Debbie. Love the dog joke at the end. That’s definitely my son’s dog Nelson. He’s a golden retreaver and very greedy. Lot’s of interesting info (especially the Kim and co) I’m a sucker for those jumpsuits.

Hi Debbie, looking at the photo of your lovely Gracie I noticed that her left eye isn’t clear. Is it something that you know about if so sorry for mentioning it.

I agree with Janet’s comment about grace’s eye. I had noticed it in a previous blog. My 13 year old chocolate lab Sally had a similar eye which resulted in her loosing itas the lens had become detached and couldn’t be saved. She manages very well but better safe than sorry
