I hope you are well and having a good week?
I am good, had a great, varied week as always, sometimes I really feel I should have a camera following me, it would make a great soap opera!
Last friday some friends and I were going to dinner at Joy Salems, I often mention Joy on-air and on blogs, she does the most amazing face treatments including non-surgical face lifts. Several of us from QVC now see her to keep looking fresh for TV. Anyway, Joy is a great friend and offered to make me a birthday meal. Just as we were approaching Joys house one of my friends saw a dog running along the road looking lost. We had sped by so fast but when we could we turned around to see if we could find him. Sure enough, there he was, a little King Charles spaniel looking rather confused and scared of the busy main road and looking very relieved we had stopped. He jumped in the car with us and we then drove on to Joys. Once there we called the number on his collar and within 10 minutes his rightful owner had come and collected him and taken him back safely. It seems that whilst a family gathering was going on little Wilbert (cute name!) had escaped. What a relief, goodness knows what would have happened if we hadn't seen him. Here is a photo of Jackie with Wilbert, it's a little dark but I think you can see what a cutie he is!
We then had a wonderful roast chicken dinner prepared by Joy, complete with 70s style grilled grapefruit with sugar to start with, yum! Joy also made me one of her famous cheesecakes as my birthday cake which you can see in the photo (below left). And yes, i did share the cake out, honest!
On the weekend itself I went over to the Buckinghamshire countryside to see my friend Lotte. You would have seen Lotte featured in my blogs before. She is a brilliant cook, publisher author, has a fabulous cafe called Lottes Kitchen in Chinnor and is also a guest on QVC for Cuisinart. We had a lazy Saturday night watching TV with pizza and wine, then on Sunday had a great pub lunch and a generally lazy day. It's so great spending time with cherished friends.
This week at home, the builders are back. Still more repairs to do on my flat and a niggling damp problem which I have been putting off for years is now finally under way. It looks rather like a building site at the moment but I will put some pics up when it's done. My garden project is finished and the whole area is re-decked, but I think I will wait until spring to show you photos as it's all looking rather bare at the moment.
Finally, here is a photo of myself, Keely from Elemis and Nicola, we had a great Elemis show on Friday and it was really a priviledge to be hosting such a huge brand for QVC. I have wanted to do skincare shows for a while as it's something I am very passionate about, so having the chance to host more of these shows lately has been so wonderful for me. Thank you for your kind comments on Facebook and Twitter, it's really appreciated.
This coming weekend I have my beloved family coming to visit, we are off to a dog show at Earls Court then to a christening on sunday. I'll report back over the next couple of weeks.
Sending you love as always and do get in touch either by posting here in the comment box or by friending me on Facebook: Craig Rowe QVC presenter, or on Twitter: @craigrowe_tv
See you soon,
