Wow, what a few weeks it's been! As you will know if you read my blogs or watch me on air on QVC, I turned 40 in the middle of September, and even though I write this blog on 29th October the celebrations have only just ended!
Well, I figure you only turn 40 once so my celebrations included a trip to France for 10 of my closest friends, attending the Louise Hay 'I can do it' event in London with my friend and fellow presenter Debbie Flint (who also concealed a surprise visit from my beloved family, who came up from Bristol just for the evening to join us for dinner!), a party at my house which left me with the biggest hangover of the year and finally a wonderful finale at Oslo Court (see pic below), a 70s restaurant in London that I had always wanted to go to and it didn't disappoint!
As well as birthday festivities, it's also been quite an epic time for friendships; an old friend of mine Emma (see pic above), who I met whilst at Uni but we had lost touch around 20 years ago, found me and we have met up a couple of time. It's strange how all that time has passed but it was like we saw each other yesterday, it feels like having a brand new friend but with history – quite surreal!
Aside from catching up with friends, partying and generally being a busy social butterfly, it's been a great few weeks at QVC – especially excited now that we've launched Christmas! I did one of my favourite shows on the weekend – In the Salon with Decleor – and I was very lucky to have both Fiona and Laura as guests, and as always I wore my bright yellow Decleor shirt!! I was also lucky enough to get a facial from Fiona herself at the Decleor Training Academy in London just a couple of days before the show, what an incredible experience and I can see why Fiona is head of training, my skin looked brand new after her treatment! Whilst at the Academy the three of us chatted all things skincare, as you can imagine, we were there a while.
Finally, I went to a Halloween party a couple of nights back, I don't really like scary stuff so I just did the American thing of dressing up – complete with wig, black tshirt, jeans and black eye liner… i was thinking Russell Brand but I think I look more like Lionel Ritchie!! hahaha!!
One other thing before I go… and it's a WOW!! The Philosophy TSV coming this week, oh my goodness!! It's a Grace gift box, it comes beautifully presented and contains full Grace fragrance, bath & shower gel, body butter, hand cream and travel size perfume for your handbag. You get to choose between Pure Grace or Amazing Grace and I have to say from a man's point of view this has just got to be the perfect present if you want to start dropping hints or maybe suggest to someone in your family to buy it for you (you know us men are hopeless sometimes at picking gifts!) OR I would be confident that if I were to give the set to my mum, sister or a girlfriend regardless of her age, she would love it. The Grace fragrance family seem to be so universally popular. Be warned though ladies, the men might sneak a bit of the Pure Grace fragrance when you are not looking, its so crisp and clean – clean cotton combined with freshly fallen snow, with the warmth of bright sunshine…..bliss!!! As for the price….just you wait and see, you won't believe your eyes!!
Have a great few days and see you on air soon.
Much love, as always
