DIY for Dad’s Day

Simon with his Snake driverI don’t like calling it Father's Day, as now I am a Dad it makes me feel a bit old! However, it is a great opportunity for people to make their Dads feel really special and get them a little gift.

We’ve been thinking ahead so Saturday's DIY show at 1pm (25th May) will feature a great range of gift ideas, both large and small, to delight your Dad – and they will all be delivered in time for Sunday 16th June.

Oddly enough, the first product "we" ever bought from QVC was bought by my wife (then my girlfriend) for me and it was to satisfy my insatiable demand for DIY tools. The Snake driver (left and below) was great and I still have it and still use it when nothing else will get the job done.

We have all sorts of things that I’m sure will have exactly the same effect for other Dads up and down the country on Father’s day. We have the Wolf 230v Combo tool which is something I have had my eye on for a while.

We have a great screwdriver set and some really nice safety goggles but my favourite has to be the Sugru. It’s a unique fixer that looks like Plasticine but bonds, seals and fixes things. It is flexible and waterproof and can be used in all sorts of areas. I understand an Irish lady invented it and although I’ve only just tried it out – it’s amazing! Every home should have some in the little utility drawer to get them out of trouble!

I've included a picture of my original Snake driver which I bought as a TSV in 1998 and I’m sure there are thousands of people out there who would agree it is a great little tool!

See you for a Father's Day special DIY show on Saturday 25th  at 1pm.
