About the design
Emeralds were JFK's favorite gemstone to give Jackie. As he saw it, emeralds were part of his family's heritage from the "Emerald Isle" of Ireland. Here, we see Jackie wearing the necklace at a formal dinner at the Japanese Embassy on June 21st, 1961. JFK and Jackie attended the reception, as did former President Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie.
Information provided by Kennedy historian, Phil Katz.
Jacqueline Kennedy Engagement Bangle
This engagement bracelet is an exact replica of the bangle received by Jackie for her engagement to JFK. She wore it her whole life and eventually bequeathed it to her daughter Caroline. This is one of the signature anchors of Jackie's jewellery collection and one of her most cherished items. The bracelet with hand-worked filigree is rhodium plated and set with Swarovski Elements.
Jacqueline Kennedy Wedding Brooch Set
The Wedding Pins, two in the set, were a wedding present to Jackie from Rose and Joe Kennedy. The pins were already an heirloom in the Kennedy Family, as Rose had been given them before she married Joseph Kennedy.
Rose presented them to Jackie the night before the wedding and asked her to wear them on the left side of her wedding gown. However, Jackie chose to wear them on the right because she knew she would be wearing JFK's gift on her left side. Over the years, Jackie wore the pins in pairs, or one at a time and even in her hair.
Be sure to tune in this Sunday 22nd September to see the full range and more.
