Dinkycat and Diet Chef

Hi all,

Just thought I'd update you on Dinky now he has had his cataract surgery.

Dinkypaws Here he is in one of his weird positions on the cat tree. Three of them tend to do this funny 'paw dangle' from time to time..I find it really cute.

Well, Sir Dinks' surgery went swimmingly well. We have a million and one eye drops to administer plus tablets and liquids…you can imagine how much fun that is for all parties concerned! Bless his little heart. We have to go back on wednesday to find out how well he can see post op. Cross fingers!!

He seems totally back to normal and has this very morning gnawed his way into several packets of my Diet Chef food sachets!! I told him he doesn't need to lose weight, he just needs to do a few more sit ups and pawrobics, hee hee.

This brings me onto my progress with my Diet Chef. I began on the 18th of January (just over 2 weeks ago);

Diet Chef wk 1 Diet Chef wk 2 009

The first pic was day one, 11 stone. The second pic was taken 7 days later, the start of week 2, 10 stone and 11 pounds so a loss of 3 pounds! The final pic was taken monday of this week with a loss of 4 pounds! So that's half a stone in just 2 weeks!

Obviously everyone is different and some may lose more or less per week. Government guidelines suggest around 2 pounds a week for safe loss so perhaps I should be adding a few more calories so as not to lose as fast as this. One thing's for sure though, it bloomin' well works.

I'd love to hear your stories of success with Diet Chef. I'd also like to invite you to join our online forum – simply go to our homepage and find 'brands' on the left hand side. Click on that and then click on Diet Chef and a whole page pops up. The section with a big question mark will take you to the friendly forum!

Please excuse the fake tan mistakes on my feet, the chipped toenail varnish and the dance inflicted bunions in the pics…just focus on the scales!! Hee hee!

Love to hear from you soon,

Catherine x

    Hi Catherine!
Thanks for replying, you are lovely.
I always find it easy to start dieting and exercise but it never seems to last. I never seem to have time! I’m really trying this time as I’d love to tone up for the summer.
Congratulations on doing so well so far, not that you need it of course. I hope you are pleased with your results. Can’t wait to see the next set of photos! You have a wonderful figure. I love to see you on QVC, you always look amazing! Seeing how well you are getting on will encourage me to do the same. Are you doing any additional exercise along with your diet?
I’m pleased that Dinky’s surgery went well. Is it just me or is it ironic that he had cat-aract surgery? Next you’ll be telling me he had to go for a cat scan! Glad all is well, although I’m sure the administering of the eyedrops is a nightmare. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
    Love, Alan.

    Hi Catherine,
Glad Dinkys surgery went well. Love the picture of him, he looks like he hasn’t a care in the world. Little does he know what his mum is going through. Good luck for Wednesday and hope you get the result you are hoping for.
Take care and good luck with the diet.
    Love Patsy

    Hi Catherine,
So pleased that all seemed to go well with Dinky’s eye surgery, though I don’t envy you the task of administering the drops as I know what fun that can be!
Cats are amazingly adaptable so I am sure Dinky will be fine even if his sight is not 100%. Our British Black cat, Wilf, has little sight now due to cataracts (he is 16 and a half years old), but he is still a happy, purring bundle of love, albeit a very fat one! Chester the blue Maine Coon lost another fang yesterday – he has lost both from the left side (he is 14), so mushy food has become the order of the day.
It’s good that the Diet Chef regime is working for you but please don’t lose too much – you are lovely as you are. I have the opposite problem in that I can’t put on weight(I need Diet Chef in reverse) – currently 7st 8lbs and being skinny is not all it’s cracked up to be.
    Lots of love, Nade xxx

Hi Catherine, The picture of Dinky made me squeal out loud and I had to drag my husband in too to have a look. He’s SO adorable! I’ve been dying to hear how he was doing with his eye problem, so will keep fingers crossed all’s well now. I’m sure you did the right thing by giving him the op. Congratulations on the Diet Chef too. I’m afraid I haven’t done as well as you and have wandered off the diet now, but you’ve inspired me to get back on track from tomorrow! You don’t look like you need to lose any more weight anyway!
    Good luck with Dinky.
Best wishes, Allyson (and Tabitha, Thomas, Misty and Alfie the cats)

    Hi Alan,
Loving your cat humour! In fact it’s purrrfect..sorry, couldn’t resist.
In answer to your question about excercise I don’t actually do all that much in the way of setting time aside especially for it. I try to get to my belly dancing class once a week but don’t always manage it due to shift patterns. I have a pilates machine at home and hop on that as and when I feel like it rather than being ultra disciplined. What I think helps me burn calories is being busy. I rush for trains, jog up the stairs rather than taking lifts at work and have a little boogie around the lounge with my daughter (or the cats) when the mood takes me!
My advice would be to do something you’ll enjoy or you won’t want to keep doing it. Have a look into your local area in terms of classes or activities. I’ve never liked the idea of running but maybe a ramblers club could win me over as it’s more social and less physical. Just do something more than you currently do to begin with and I’m sure it has to help..then build up if you feel like it.
Remember to let me know how you’re getting on. I’m nosy!
Take care & keep at it.

    Hi Heidi,
Yes, isn’t Dinky a one? He often just has one paw sticking out in front like a superman pose! I’ll have to post a pic sometime.

    Hi Nade,
Chester & Wilf – what lovely names and it sounds to me like lovely cats, too.
I know what you mean about being skinny not all it’s cracked up to be. I have seen both sides of the coin…I should do a blog on the subject, maybe I will actually! Amazing how people, in my experience, were much happier to be rude and make comments when I was underweight than when I was overweight. Some people would say I was disgustingly thin but I was never told I was disgustingly fat. It’s an interesting observation of human behaviour.
I digress..and I’ll save it for another blog!
Keep well and good luck with the weight gain!

    Hi Dorothy,
Thhanks for your lovely comments. Isn’t Dinks a cheeky boy? He is just adorable. I’m looking at him sleeping now in theat little hammocky thing, the one in the pic. He is getting so heavy now that it’s hanging down with his weight!
Thanks again for the well wishes.

Hello Allyson..and Tabitha, Thomas, Misty & Alfie 🙂
Ha ha, Dinky often makes me squeal & chuckle. Popsie has been making me giggle today rolling around on her back with her plump furry tummy wriggling about asking to be tickled!
Good for you getting back on track. I am sticking to it pretty well but allowing myself a treat or two per week. I think if you make things completely banned then it’s all you think about so it’s better just to allow a little bit then you don’t feel you’ve failed if you have a small choc bar or glass of wine.
Keep at it, it’ll be worth it! I’m telling myself the same thing, too.
    Much love,
    Catherine x

    Hi Cathrine,
I just love puns like that. My mates say I’ve got a dreadful sense of humour, but it keeps me smiling! Have you heard any good jokes recently?
You do a belly dancing class?! WOW! I’d LOVE to see that!! ;o) Looking forward to your update photos too! You have a wonderful body.
I know what you mean about doing things you enjoy. I am still playing 5-a-side football once a week and have just started badminton too. I’m hoping that will help shed some pounds. I’ve got some weights in the house too but like you I only pick them up as the feeling takes me.
I jumped on the scales again this week and I’m still 10 stone, so no further reductions yet. Thankfully no increase though! Can’t wait to see the toning kicking in, but it’s early days yet.
It really is the delightful that you take the time to stay in touch through your blog. Thanks! I guess I must be nosey too!
    Love, Alan
