Guest presenter Kylie Butler stopped by QVC Towers to tell us how she tried this portion-controlled diet plan to slim down for her wedding day…
Tell us about your Diet Chef experience
Well, my now husband proposed to me towards the end of last year which meant I was of course over the moon. BUT I was very unhappy with my weight and I knew this was the perfect opportunity to do something about it.
I’ve always been a yoyo dieter and as someone who has tried so many different diets over the years, I have learnt that the only way to loose weight is to reduce my calorie intake.
With this in mind, I never had the time or patience to weigh, measure, calculate or keep track of food I was eating. That’s why I love Diet Chef because it's a calorie-controlled diet and all the hard work was already done for me. I lost just over a stone and a half and felt fabulous on my wedding day in February of this year.

How did you motivate yourself?
I tried to keep myself very busy with work, friends and of course the wedding plans. Also, no diet would be complete without ‘the pictures on the fridge’. I always put up a 'before and after' shot.
Sometimes my 'after' shot is my head stuck on someone else’s body who I think looks great or a picture that I liked of me at a weight where I felt comfortable and happy. This is excellent inspiration and I would highly recommend it!
What were your favourite Diet Chef meals?
I loved the tomato soups for lunch. The pea and ham was also a firm favourite and I was pleasantly surprised with the sweet potato and coconut soup as I didn’t think I was going to like it.
For dinner, the mild chicken tikka masala, sausage casserole and paella were my favourites. I also have to give a special mention to the chocolate chip biscuits – absolutely loved them with a cup of tea!
How did you complement your Diet Chef meals?
For breakfast I substituted my milk allowance for low fat yogurt from time to time which I had with the granola. Sometimes I’d also add berries to my porridge. I found the soups so tasty that I really didn’t need to do anything thing to them but occasionally I added some seasoning or steamed green beans.
For dinner, I liked adding roasted peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms – this was especially nice with the Thai chicken curry. I also added a splash of soy sauce and some stir fry vegetables to the paella which tasted delicious.

How did you feel when you reached your target size?
Brilliant! Honestly, being in control of my weight gives me much more control of my life. I’m one of those people that let my weight affect me so it really does give me a sense of achievement when I’m the size I want to be.
I joked throughout the preparations for my wedding that I was going to wear black on the big day as I never wear white, and the thought of it scared me!
But I found the ‘white’ dress of my dreams and when I walked down the aisle my husband cried… which was the icing on the cake (for want of a better expression!!!).
