Nothing very interesting to report from the homefront this week I'm afraid – poor Toby ripped yet another claw; if you're relatively new to my blog, it's an ongoing problem and one that rears it ugly head every few months.
He's become so used to it that once he's done it, he just sits beside us and lifts up his paw combined with a mournful look – knowing that one of us will bathe it in salt water and give him a treat. Only then will he go off to lie down and feel sorry for himself.
We have a brilliant vet who really works with us on this, and has given us plenty of advice to manage these painful episodes in a way that causes minimum distress to Toby, and also saves us unnecessary bills.
Unfortunately, this time we did have to go to see our vet as it just wouldn't heal and was causing Toby a lot of discomfort. I'm pleased to tell you that within 48 hours of having it removed, he was back to normal.
As I've said, many times before, yawn yawn, he really is the best dog ever – so chilled and mild mannered. Plus, no doubt, I could be accused of anthropomorphism here, but he really does seem to understand and trust that we can help him get better?
Obviously, what with Toby out of action and the poor weather, another week has gone by without a snap of wildlife, so I've delved into Dale's Springwatch archives for a couple of photos from previous years taken by yours truly…
20 years of Diamonique
As you've probably noticed, we have been celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Diamonique at the Q! As well as presenting Wednesday's three-hour Spectacular, with gem expert Mark Walker, I will be launching a new Today's Special Value from the glamorous range of Diamonique by Hollywood royalty Tova.
Tova Borgnine owns, and has owned, some of the most exquisite jewellery pieces, many of which were bought for her by her late Oscar winning husband Ernest Borgnine.
Tova has a great talent for spotting designs that seem to transcend across generations and her collection on QVC offers our customers the chance to buy a piece of that 'Red Carpet' look at a fraction of the price.
Her TSV is quite a show stopper, with a muti-row band design featuring 129 stunning simulated Diamonds. It is a very special ring for Tova, as it is inspired by the commitment ring Ernie gave her for their 25th wedding anniversary – hope you can join us!
Dyson's upcoming Today's Special Value!
On Friday into Saturday I'll be presenting a great TSV from Dyson: the DC54 Animal Cinetic Cylinder Vacuum plus a 4pc clean and tidy kit.
Now, before you think what follows is sexist… I do my fair share of household chores but Mrs F likes to do the vacuuming and couldn't wait to get her hands on this latest design from Dyson.
She absolutely loves it and said: "Once I got used to the slight difference between upright and cylinder technique I found it so much easier to do around the house."
It's easy to carry upstairs and she particularly liked the feature that reduces the suction, allowing you to vacuum, rugs etc. that much easier.
It goes without saying that you can try it out yourself for 30 days at a great TSV price and there may even be some very welcome Easy Pays (wink wink).
Just For Fun
We hope you had fun with us, we always end up laughing about anything!
