The first product sprang to mind one morning as the sun was beating down – so it goes without saying that I can’t live without Ultrasun right now! As mentioned in previous blogs, with my skin, I’d be confined indoors in all this lovely weather!
Another complete must is Gale Hayman’s lip-lift – I usually buy the duo and have been using it since 1997 when Alison herself instructed me (you know what she’s like!) that I just have to use it to help solve a cracked lip problem I had when I was quite run down – it worked like magic! Have you done that, used something because of Alison’s insistence then realised she was quite right and never looked back? If so, what’s your story?
Cleansing & moisturising
Goes without saying – if you know me at all – that Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish would be on my list and has been for 15 years or so! I used her range during my nine years away from QVC too. It’s helped transform my daughter Lauren’s dry, eczema prone skin too, specially the body wash which is sodium laurel sulphate free. Staying out of the sun has helped of course to avoid wrinkles, but so did Liz’s creams.
I loving trying out new ranges too since I came back to QVC – it's part of the job! So it’s interesting to see what’s happening with my face and neck since using Gatineau Defi-lift. I hadn’t seen my son Brad for a bit, and he said to me ‘you look like your face is more toned mum’.
You don’t notice yourself so much do you, so it’s good getting feedback! I’ll carry on with it for a while to see what happens. It won’t be featured on this show, but I’m also looking forward to using the Tua’Trend machine to help tone the muscles underneath. Have you got any feedback for me about this product?
ABC’s Tea Tree wash is a must-have right now too, with all the hand-washing I do cos of the new puppies! (New update to follow on here soon!). Cheap antibac wash is so drying on my nails and hands, it always amazes me how much difference it makes to use a good brand – and I need less of it too so it’s quite worth it.
I also recommended it to my son Brad – he does use Liz’s range for men, but if he’s on a building site doing his civil engineering work (am so proud!) on the King’s Cross extension in London, he can get very hot under his hard hat!
There's too many to list, but I’m currently a big fan of Philosophy’s foundations – the cream foundation is wonderful and stays put and is really matte – great for telly. But recently I did a show with Robin and we showed the powder 4 in 1 foundation – it’s so quick! And I got compliments on my make up straight afterwards too! You have to try it. Bare Escentuals makes up a lot of the rest of my make-up colours although last night, for the Artscapes show, I used Smashbox’s purple eye palette – lovely.
Someone who’s stolen my heart lately is the lovely Daniel Sandler – some of his products are very innovative. I love his eye pencil, his liners, and his mascara is a brilliant concept – looking forward to more shows from him soon!
Another of my favourite people is Ian from Philip Kingsley – and Philip himself of course! I swear by their Elasticizer – it’s just brilliant especially to help if you heat treat your hair. And if I just need a quick spruce up between washes, the Rub Out Cleanser from Ojon does the trick!
Finally, Decleor has provided me with lots of lovely experiences over the years. I did a show with Fiona and used the System Corps on my arms, and couldn’t believe how soft they still were hours later. So I bought some and currently have it in the bathroom, plus a pump dispenser by my kitchen sink.
As you can imagine, the house is pretty full of different QVC beauty products – is your house the same?
See you on Thursday afternoon!
