We have had so many decisions to make lately, regarding work on our house, so I’m pleased that there are none to make on our Price’s Candles Today’s Special Value next Thursday. You get everything… more on that later.
There was a choice in the Elemis Today’s Special Value last Sunday though – I wonder which you went for and if you’ve already been enjoying the gorgeous products. I snapped this picture of Keeley at around 11pm, when she had been doing shows for over 24 hours. I was impressed that her energy and sense of fun hadn’t diminished at all. We have another two brilliant ‘beauty’ Today’s Special Values this weekend.
If it’s make-up you are after, you couldn’t do much better than the Laura Geller offer which is already available to purchase on our website. It features my preferred foundation from Laura, the Balance n Glow, which gives a sheer to medium coverage, plus a blusher duo compact and eye-shadow duo compact, waterproof eyeliner, GlamLASH mascara and Italian marble lipstick – all for under £40 and in 4 Easy Payments.
If I’m honest, the lippie is not for me as it’s too strong, but team it with a nail colour and it will make a great Christmas gift for one of my nieces, perhaps. We also have an amazing offer from Decleor on Sunday. I’m sad to be missing both Laura and Fiona this weekend, but I am certainly ready for a few days off after the week I’ve had!
On Sunday, I had to go for an MRI scan on my lower back – results to follow in a couple of weeks – and, again, I find myself praising the efficiency of the NHS. Not only was my appointment on time, it was actually early, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder; providing me with a blindfold, as I get a little claustrophobic, and piping music through to me via headphones. It was all done and dusted in 20 minutes, meaning that Dan, the tiler, was still hard at work on our hall floor when I got back. It looks amazing, but I will save the photos until we have the new front door in a few weeks – fingers crossed it will be before Christmas.
Once the tiles were laid, the chap arrived on Monday to build pull-out storage units under the stairs and on Tuesday, my only day off this week, we were finally able to have the remaining carpet laid on the landing and stairs. It’s only been sitting in a storage warehouse for two months, after I’d originally told them it would be a couple of weeks! While they were finishing of the carpet, I was on my way to Wembley for the England v Brazil friendly.
0 – 0 may sound like it was a boring game but, actually, I think the youngsters in defence did really well to hold their own against the household names in the Brazil line-up! Many of them were given their chance, due to injury concerns over some of England’s more experienced players, but if I were Gareth Southgate, I’d stick with them for the World Cup in Russia next year. They really looked like they were proud to be playing for their country. The only downside of the evening was that Palace’s Loftus-Cheek, who won man of the match against Germany, went off injured. I hope he’s okay for this weekend.
Even though it has been a busy week at QVC, I’ve had some lovely shows, including two from the Liz Earle mini-series with Caroline Archer. During our show on Monday night, Andi Peters, whose show followed us at 7pm, rushed onto the set to give me a hug, abandoning Dale as he teased their upcoming show. I also managed to get a picture with Jamie Laing from Made in Chelsea.
We watched him recently in the celebrity Hunted series, where they were raising money for charity. How appropriate that the Candy Kittens sweets he sells on QVC are cat-shaped, as I am such a cat lover.
Speaking of which, I had to share this picture of Milo (the ginger one) and Wilfie enjoying the Autumn sunshine. Milo is staying with us while his Mummy is holidaying in Australia. He’s clearly missing her…?
Sophie has sent some fab pictures and I’m beginning to wonder if we might lose her to the antipodes at some point in the future. Although we’ve had some stunning blue sky days here, it has been a little nippy, so do remember to put some food out for the birds. I use the Richard Jackson Premium High Energy mix, which they seem to love.
So, back to the Price’s Candles offer I mentioned at the beginning of this blog. It’s coming up next Thursday and you won’t want to miss it. Once again, our buyers have excelled at getting a great deal. It’s a 66-piece set, with six jar candles and six boxes of tea-lights in six different fragrances for under £20 (less than half the cost of buying it direct from Price’s Candles’ website).
I absolutely love burning candles all over my home, but I’m thinking particularly of my new bathroom, our bedroom and my writing room to help me finish my Christmas novella, which is now more than half done – more on that next week.
My three favourite fragrances from the collection are; Pure Cashmere, White Magnolia and Vanilla and Sandalwood, not necessarily in that order. You also get Windsor Rose, Mandarin and Honey and Spiced Apple Cider – which is very festive. It’s also really good for separating out into smaller presents for under a fiver – Secret Santa springs to mind!
Well, I’ve rambled on enough so I had better dash. Today’s Fashion on Friday continues celebrating Nina Leonard’s 12th anniversary, then I have an hour of Butler & Wilson World with Simon at 6pm – hope to see you there.
