If you have followed QVC for a while, you will have noticed that the pictures of jewellery have become somewhat amazing! Our camerawoman (and now Decagon Captain!) Karen has been piloting the “Decagon 1” (which has been hers and her colleagues’ own invention!)
We realised you wanted to see all the details of the jewellery close up and as clear as possible. Normally, it’s lighting that causes problems, with shadows and bits that are too bright or underexposed. So Karen and some others got together and designed our new system. Then they strong-armed Chip, our resident carpenter (who is something of a magician when it comes to making things), to make a cabinet and some LED lights were purchased and (bar a bit of gaffer tape and the odd bit of blue tack and some coat hangers (see the picture), it was voila!
The difference it makes to what you see at home is amazing and I think it gives you an amazingly clear picture of what you might buy and hopefully helps you make your decision. It took a lot of work to get it sorted but Karen and the team were really dedicated to making it as good as it could be and I think they have done an amazing job!
