So many of the people are the same, and the skeleton of the building is the same, but it's like someone's moved all the major internal organs around. It’s all much more efficient and modern from what I remember, but wandering round so many memories have come flooding back!
There are lovely new studios, sets and fabulous new technology; hi-tech internal communications, and production processes which all go to make it the smoothest shopping telly machine around, so that what comes out of your screens is as enjoyable and professional as possible.
The products are amazing too. Anyone who remembers me (and if you do, tell me what you remember by leaving a comment below) may recall that I used to be my own best customer and nothing's changed! Skincare in particular and household items, clothes and the technology, wow that's a lot. Having just ordered a new Acer netbook I can see a trend has begun!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve found over the years that some of the products I buy have changed my life somewhat. It sounds cheesy I know, but every so often something comes along which really does make a difference. I’m sure you’ve got some instances of that? Let me know if you have.
For me, one of the biggest changes is how I deal with issues and challenges in my life, the ups and downs, major and minor. A Tony Robbins CD set which I helped to launch on QVC in 1997 led me onto a wealth of information – both psychological (I love all that) and philosophical – including the works of a certain Wayne Dyer.
His work is fabulous; I’ve got loads of his books and audio CDs now. If any of my family and friends ever hear me say ‘give up your need to be right’ or ‘be independent of the good or bad opinion of others’, it came from him. It’s great to have a helping hand from fascinating people and even better to get to meet them! Destiny works in wonderful ways…
I’ll talk more about what I’ve got up to over the years in later blogs, that’s if anyone’s interested. But for now, suffice to say I’m really happy to be back on air and looking forward to hearing your thoughts via this new blog!
One final thought though – we’re all human!
Serves me right for putting pressure on myself during the first week back. In between tons of meetings and outside shoots which have really made me feel welcome and part of the team, my singleton’s life continued – maybe I should have rescheduled! Want to hear more about what happened? Maybe I’ll tell you next week…
I really don’t know if many people will remember me from my six years here previously. It was a long time ago! If you do, hi again, and if you don’t thank you for reading this and hopefully I can fit in to the team smoothly for you.
Working alongside the other ladies and gents on QVC bringing you some of the best bargains around is one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. It’s great to be back and lovely to have your company!
Best wishes and hugs
P.S. Next week you can read about my break in Tuscany for a romantic novel writing course!
