Fun (and cakes) at the Hobbycraft Show

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to send out a big thank you to everyone who visited the stand at the Hobbycraft Show in Glasgow last week. It was great fun being there and you made all of us feel so very welcome.

Thanks as well to those of you who treated us to delicious cakes, chocolates and gifts in general. It was fantastic to see so many people at the show and a pleasure to get to meet so many of you. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and hopefully picked up a few tips along the way!

Behind the scenes on the making of my DVD

Thought you might like a little insight into the preparation for filming my DVD, our Craft Day Today's Special Value.

We had a fun two days with so much preparation. All of my team were involved and it actually took a few weeks to prepare all of the cards and demonstrations but hopefully you will find that it was all worthwhile.

The DVD focuses on stamps, stickers and stencils with a section on backgrounds too. It runs for around 200 minutes! I just couldn't stop talking, you know me!

I really have tried to pack it with all the latest products and techniques to inspire you. Leonie and Amy join me to craft and JJ also pops in for a little cameo appearance along with my dogs and pygmy goats.

I really hope you enjoy it and would love to know what you think.

Craft Day countdown!

Midnight is fast approaching and what a fabulous day ahead we have planned.

I'm so excited as it's the launch of my new product range including my Today's Special Value item, I do hope you will all like it!

We have all been crazy-busy preparing to make it a special day, myself, Leonie, Amy, Rosemary, Clare Curd and our special guests from the USA - Anna Griffin and Alex Peruzzi from Martha Stewart Crafts. It's going to be fast-paced and full of exciting new products.

Sarah Crosland, the editor from Crafts Beautiful, will be joining me at 5pm to give her insight into all the latest trends and products - plus we have a premier show QuicKutz at 6pm featuring the new Silhouette and Epic 6 machines.

It's going to be an incredible day, don't miss out on the fun.

Craft your way to a day at QVC

Hi everyone,

if you're a fan of making Artist Trading Cards or a keen scrapbooker you could win yourself a day with me at QVC complete with a chance to appear on air and have dinner with me afterwards!

All I want you to do is create either an ATC with the theme of Christmas or, if you prefer scrapbooking, make a Summer Holiday scrapbook page. I will be personally selecting the six best designs so I can't wait to see what you come up with!

What an incredible TSV last week (588341)! Thank you all so much for your competition entries. I'm sure it will be very difficult for Erica to choose the names of her new characters.

Breast Cancer Care auction

Well I have a very busy month ahead. Next week is our Breast Cancer Care event (Thursday 15th October). This is a very important date on the QVC calender and for such a good cause. We have a fantastic auction going on. One of the lots is for a date with yours truly so don't miss out on the night. It will be a lot of fun and all in a good cause.

Craft Day - Tuesday 20th October

The following week is Craft Day (Tuesday 20th October), with some very special products launching - I'm so excited! And then I am flying off to Glasgow for the Hobbycraft show in the SECC. Yippee, finally Scotland, here I come!

If you would like to come and meet me you can pre-book your ticket. It's on from Thursday 22nd October to Sunday 25th October and we will have an ATC competition running on the stand, so don't forget to bring yours along!

Daisy & Dandelion competition

Please note that we're not accepting any more entries for this competition. Good luck to those who entered on the day and I'll get back to you in due course with the results.

Erica Martyn, the creator of our Daisy & Dandelion range, has come up with this adorable pair of penguins (see left - click on the picture to take a closer look at the pair) - launching in 2010. She wants you to help her name them!

What you could win

The winning names will bag you a collection of Daisy & Dandelion products worth over £140 as well as a framed and signed copy of the picture of the two penguins that you will have named, and a day at QVC with me!

On your day at QVC you'll be treated to a morning one-on-one crafting session with me, lunch, and in the afternoon you'll get to appear on QVC TV and help me out during my regular craft show from 2pm - 4pm. Fancy it?

Ten runners-up will also win themselves a goody bag worth over £40.

Christmas card ideas

If you're working on your Chistmas cards at the moment and are looking for a little inspiration, I've put together a couple of craft projects for you to try your hand at.

These cards have been created using a Christmas 3D Cardmaking Kit (588424 - available from Tuesday 29th September). It's perfect for beginners as it has a coloured instruction booklet with hints and tips included. I've also used micro dots (586741) and double-sided tape (586493).

You can find these and more in the Craft department of the QVC website.

Tree Lights card

1. Select the correct components (left) and fold the accordion card along the scored lines (right).

2. Pop out the Tree Lights die-cuts, organise them into three sets of four and attach them inside the folded sections with micro dots - one set at the top and one at bottom, all in the same direction (left), then have the centre set of four going in the opposite direction (right).

3. Build up the front matts with 3D foam and attach them onto the card (left).
