Hope all is well with you!
Guess where I was last weekend? That's right – back home on the Isle of Wight…again! It was brilliant. This time it was super-relaxed with Mum, Dad and family. Lazy days on the beaches, a couple of walks, plus great food! As I write this, it's pouring down with rain…let's hope it's a very short glitch in our glorious summer!
On Sunday we played beach cricket. For some reason I became very competitive! I wasn't aware that I was holding the cricket bat incorrectly, but it was resting high in the air, the same way you'd hold a baseball bat. I must admit, my way was pretty effective; in fact, I became a little too confident.
My Dad bowled, I struck hard, if anything, I struck a little too hard. I lost control – I spun a full 360 degrees on my left foot, and just like the ball, I took off in the air and landed very hard on the sand – which isn't that soft when wet!!
Everyone (including me) was laughing uncontrollably. I'm told it would have been a great Youtube moment…such a shame it wasn't filmed (he says with relief!). The laughter soon came with pain though – ouch! My lower back has suffered somewhat which I'm quickly reminded of when I get in and out of the car.
After that I settled for making sand castles!
Well I'll see you soon…in fact I'm part of Fashion Day on Sunday 8th August at 3pm with New York designer Lenny of Nina Leonard.
Tune in on Sunday for more!
Take care (especially if you're playing beach cricket!)
