Craig’s excited about Today’s Special Value from Acer

Craig using the Acer laptop Hiya

Hope you are well and had a good week.

Just wanted to let you know we have a great Acer laptop as our Today's Special Value, so if you have been thinking about a new (or maybe a first!) computer it could be a great choice, and if you are planning on getting a special someone a special present, or if a few family members are clubbing together, this could be perfect!

It's an Acer laptop and I'm not sure if you've noticed but certainly in the big towns we're seeing more and more Acer billboards and ads all over the place as this is a brand really growing in size and kudos.

Lee Hobein is our guest for this Today's Special Value offer and has some great ways of showing you how you can use it. I thought I would jot down some thoughts on how I have got on.

Craig using the Acer laptop Simple!
Can you believe that within about 20 minutes of opening the box I was up and running? Windows 7 (the latest and greatest Windows operating system!) talks you through the setup and the only disc you need to insert is the free Spyware Doctor software that comes with it.

You don't have to install this but as it's included and will give you peace of mind when you are on the web, it's worth it.

I am amazed at how speedy it is! On the first day of using it I had put some of my music on there (the latest Charlotte Church album - I am in love with her after meeting her on QVC), I was surfing the net doing some online banking, checking emails and facebook, and I even watched a DVD, something I haven't done in a while since I have had my tablet-style computer!

As it's HD, the picture looked great – while watching the movie and while browsing through some of my photos. I was also able to easily create an address book for contacts, start a calendar and even start making those all important Christmas lists.

Everything I did on it worked quickly, so if you are tearing your hair out screaming at a slow, old computer maybe it's time to upgrade!

Brilliant spec!
I found that there is nothing I can't do on the Acer Today's Special Value – writing, surfing the web, watching movies, organising my music, taking care of household bills, watching BBC iPlayer – it's all easy on the Acer.

In fact, considering this is still portable, it does have a great spec; an amazing 500GB hard drive – the SAME as my huge desktop computer, 4GB of RAM (otherwise known as the brain power), which is also the same as my desktop.

There are plenty of ways to connect it to your camera, camcorder, iPod and TV using the four USB ports, SD card slot and even VGA and HDMI ports, which came in really handy when I missed the Apprentice on Wednesday and was able to then watch it on my main TV by connecting it to the Acer – brilliant!

Despite it being as powerful, as fast and as feature-packed as my desktop, unlike my desktop, I was able to move it around the home so working and surfing between my bedroom, lounge and even the kitchen was no problem.

I even took it to the garage one day and used it whilst I waited for the two hours to get a repair done and then after a meditation class I had time to wait before the train home and the building has Wi-Fi so I was even able to use it there and look for a piece of music they had played in the class!

I reckon if you are ready for a handy, portable, powerful easy-to-use computer and you want more compatibility and versatility than you could get from a netbook or a tablet-style computer, you'd be hard pushed to do better than this.

It's also at a great price and available in Easy Pay instalments, hurrah!

Craig. x
