On your bike!

Craig gets on his bikeHi there, hope you all had a brilliant Christmas break!

With the New Year and its resolutions looming, I've decided it's time to get out there and cycle some more.

I'm not doing things by halves – I've kitted myself out with lots of high-vis clothing as the roads down here in London can get pretty frantic and I want to make sure I'm safe.

Here's a photo of me testing out my new gear in my local park (Roundwood Park in north-west London). What do you think to my nifty bright yellows and oranges? Do you think Glen Campbell, our resident style guru, would approve?

Have you been getting out and about and enjoying the fresh air over Christmas, or do you prefer being tucked up in the warm indoors on these cold and frosty winter days?

And let me know what you think of my cycling outfit – be honest!

Have a great New Year's Eve, and I'll be in touch again soon,
Craig. xx.

Good for you Craig, getting out and about and doing some exercise. And on the clothing front, you are dressed suitably and safely. I think other posts have been too harsh. Yes,it may not be the most stylish of looks but at least you will be seen by motorists etc. Save style for when you are on camera and keep safe on your bike. Have a great new year.

Hi Graig – well what can I say – you look fab in your gear but can I ask if you have got a camera on your helmet? or is it me. I have enjoyed hearing about your christmas and the pics of you in the “pink bed”- I wish you well with your new year’s resolutions, and also you are doing a great job presenting. Good wishes for 2009.

Very trendy Craig! Keep up the good work. You will definitely be seen on the road with those colours-very nice!

    Hello Craig,
Ignore the slightly ridiculous comments some have posted, better the hi-viz wear than a beautifully and fashionably dressed but bloody and mangled body at the side of the road, really!
It has been found in studies that Hi-viz wear can give motorists a valuable extra three seconds ‘reaction time’ that could save lives…
Good luck with the cycling, used to love my BMX!

Well no-one’s going to miss you wearing that, are they?! You also appear to have a lampost growing out of your head. Is that a special safety feature?! 🙂

    Hi Craig
    Happy New Year.
Good luck with the cycling – you look fine – better to be seen and safe!
I used to live near Roundwood Park and was only thinking about it the other day – spooky.
Do they still have the fish pond near the main entrance?
    Best wishes for 2009

Hi Craig, i had a lovely christmas break thank you spent with family & friends & my time has also been spent walking my gorgeous 2yr old black labrador who is reject from the guide dogs for the blind. my dog not only likes to get out in the fresh air for ‘walkies’ but enjoys it when i make a fire & pile it high with logs. He lays on the rug in front of the hearth & tries to get as close as possible to the flames – he’s one HOT DOG! Talking of looking HOT, that’s exactly what you look Craig in all your new cycling gear! Keep pedalling dear friend love Sharon XX

    Hi Craig.
    HNY to you.
I think you’re sending mixed messages …. hi-viz v camouflage … but what the heck, if it keeps you safe (and warm), that’s what really matters.
Do you have any cycling ‘resolutions’? As a novice to event cycling I did the London Bikeathon for the last two years (challenge route – 56 miles!!) and had a fantastic time.
Keep safe – and have fun.

    Hi Craig
Save the fashion for the Catwalk – just make sure you can be seen by the traffic! Bit concerned that the rucksack you are carrying appears to be black – if that is the case you need to stick a hi-vis patch on it or it defeats the object of wearing the hi-vis jacket!
Keep cycling – and happy new year
    Love Helen

    Hi Craig
I think you look great ignore some of those needless nasty posts and I agree with other posters that its better to be safe, you’ve given me the incentive to get on my shiny new bike I got for my birthday but as yet haven’t used. good luck and Happy New Year to you love Jo xx

    Hi Craig,
My bike has been hanging in the garage roof for years and years. I am useless on 2 wheels not like my dad who was a cycling guru of his time and held several distance records. I’ll stick to my legs – oh! and my car. You look the part and am sure are already quite fit. Just take care around those London streets.
Look forward to seeing you on more craft progs. in 2009. xx
