Once again a huge congrats to Barbara Handley, from Solihull, who won the big Elemis giveaway for my birthday, I thoroughly hope you enjoy your prize.
Well it’s been quite a couple of weeks! I did, as hoped, manage to get away in the campervan, the aim being to climb Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons; it’s the highest peak in that range and the one that the SAS complete their training on.
Normally this is a very picturesque part of the world on a clear day but when the weather comes in the situation can change eminently, perfect conditions can become very harsh and bleak. Unfortunately, it rained heavily with howling gales and, even in full waterproof kit, we only managed half an hour before we had to turn around and head home; shame.
Poor Ted, like us (the dog) was soaked to the skin like a drowned rat and he was really rather unhappy with me! Thankfully one evening there was a small break in the wet conditions and we had a little trip to a festival called ‘Volksfest’ where there were a few bands and a chance to grab some food and drinks.
So three days of rain in the Brecon Beacons and it was definitely time to move on, so off down to The Gower and Pembrokeshire next. I’ve been to The Gower before but it felt like unfinished business, so a return trip and some sunshine were very much in order. There’s an incredible campsite that has to be one of the most picturesque views of the coastline I’ve seen…look it up, ‘Three Cliffs Bay'; great spot for a base.
There are some of the most amazing coastal walks around there and some fabulous stretches of coastline and beaches…Rhossili, Oxwich Bay and Mewslade Bay and all of them allow dogs on them all year around; Ted was in his element.
On my birthday I had one request on my wish list and that was that I wanted to surf in the sea off the British Isles…well, my wish came true. I donned my wetsuit, hired a board and headed to Rhossili Bay to ‘hang 10′ and surf was well and truly up! Teddy had a little tinker in the sea too and, although it was lovely and warm at 17 degrees water temperature and 24 degrees air temperature, he hated it!
In other news, here at QVC and on social media there is a storm of excitement surrounding a beauty brand launching very soon on QVC: Jay Manuel. Originally a make-up artist (you’ve probably seen him on ‘America’s Next Top Model’), beauty and fashion expert Jay Manuel created his eponymous brand after spending 20 years on both sides of the camera.

The hero product to watch out for is Skin Perfector Foundation to give the ultimate flawless finish, perfect-looking non-shiny skin, which is in the Today’s Special Value collection on Wednesday 7th September. The brand is all based around creating the perfect filter for the face. The TSV is called the Filter Finish Collection and contains:
Skin Perfector Foundation
Skin Face Lift Highlighter
Two make-up sponges
The highlighter and lipgloss correspond to the foundation shade so it all works with your skin tone. I’ve been trialing the range on air and at home, and I’m obsessed. The quality, coverage and flawless finish to the skin is something else!
Can’t wait for you to see and try the coming TSV on Wednesday, do tune in because it’s a revelation and masterclass in make-up!
