My brand new Container Gardening book!

2

Richard Jackson Container Gardening bookIt's taken me three years but, at long last, I've got there. I'm really excited because my brand new book, Richard Jackson’s Container Gardening, is about to go on sale! I've always wanted to write a book on containers because I’ve loved gardening in pots since I was a lad.

Over the years, I've grown a huge range of plants in containers, from stately cut leaved maples in huge pots to hanging baskets dripping with colour. So my book is packed with all I've learnt about growing the most beautiful patio containers, hanging baskets and window boxes.

Ther'’s a lot in it! I will help you choose, plant and get the best from bedding plants, bulbs, vegetables, fruit, roses and perennials. For even more inspiration, some of QVC's world renowned growers and gardeners, including Raymond Evison, Claire Austin, Matthew Biggs, George Clowes, Michael Marriot (David Austin roses), Paul Hansord (Thompson & Morgan) and David Ponton (Hayloft) pass on their top tips for growing their specialist plants in containers.

I've had great fun choosing the pictures for it. The 160=page hardback book features over 200 photographs from some of the UK's leading garden photographers (and a few of mine too) as well as my step-by-step planting guides that we photographed last summer.

My book goes on sale this coming Saturday (2nd March) and is only available from QVC. As a thank you to everyone who buys it, I've included a special personally signed bookmark with every copy.

Happy gardening!

I bought the Easy Fill Hanging Baskets last year and, found them brilliant and so easy to plant. However, the results were ‘okay’ for a first attempt using Petunias, but not the trailing variety and I was disappointed not to have achieved the wonderful display that some of your customers have had, i.e. a beautiful cascading display covering the whole basket. I wondered if you had any suggestions of what I could plant to give me a similar wonderful display? I am a novice with hanging baskets! I have recently bought your Flower Power Premium Plant Food. Will be grateful for any advice you can offer.
