Just a quick blog today to show you a rather special cushion! That might sound a bit odd, but it’s a cushion specially produced to celebrate QVC’s 20th birthday later this year, it’s at a fantastic price, and it’s going to feature in my first ever show with textile brand Collier Campbell this Sunday the 30th of June, so I thought I’d give you a sneaky peek.
If you’re not familiar with Collier Campbell, it was started back in 1961 by two sisters. Over the years they’ve worked for brands as prestigious as Yves St Laurent and Liberty of London, and won numerous awards.
In fact, some of their designs are considered so iconic that several are held as part of a permanent exhibition at the V&A Museum. All the designs are hand-painted and they’re known for their explosions of colour and pattern.
This cushion is a classic example – it’s based on a previous successful design called 'Secret Garden' but this incorporates a vivid purple, which is QVC’s corporate colour. As you can see it’s added a real splash of vibrancy to the chaise longue in my conservatory at home.
It’s actually a faux silk, which is incredibly realistic – I was sure it was silk until I looked at the label – and filled with lovely soft duck feathers. And all that for less than £20! I think it looks fantastic, like a little piece of art on the sofa… and let’s face it, with this miserable weather, we can all do with a little bit of brightening up at the moment!
If you like the look of it, there’ll be lots more gorgeous Collier Campbell goodies in my show at 4pm on Sunday afternoon. Pour yourself a cup of tea, cut a slice of cake and join us!
