From in-house model to technology guest presenter, Claudia was already a familiar face at QVC when she became a main presenter in 2001. Her ambition and business acumen has given her a varied and exciting career; she's worked in recruitment and marketing management and currently runs a leadership development business with her chartered psychologist husband Steven. Claudia has always had a passion for drawing and designing, making her own jewellery and beltbuckles as a child in her Father's metal workshop. This is a passion she’s now passed onto her own children.
Do you have a middle name?
Victor - the same as my father's middle name. It's a family thing!
Favourite food
Scallops pan fried with garlic butter and lemon juice and black pepper, followed by a tender fillet steak cooked - it should be just pink with horseradish dressing and lots of veggies of the season. Accompanied by a good glass of Rioja.
Favourite film
Meet the Parents - Robert DeNiro was hilarious. Not a particularly cultured choice but it has me in stitches every time so it scores highly with me!
Favourite book
Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh. Timeless and wistfuland I’ve read it a thousand times.
Do you have any children?
Zachariah (Zak) born in 1998, Isabella who arrived in 2000 and lovely little Blake born in June 2006.My children are the centre of my universe, they are so polite, creative and loving, I’m so proud of each of them.
What do you enjoy doing?
Watching our three children play together. Golf with my husband – working on my handicap. I’m passionate about cooking and cook a fresh main meal every day for the family. I love doing dinner parties too. I’m big on organic and will go far and wide to make sure we’re always stocked up. I’m mad about design and have been since a young girl. I spend a great deal of time with my gunsmith Father in his workshop as he heads towards retirement. He’s a master at working gold and silver. Zak has taken on the passion for making things too, whilst Bella often sits with me and sketches designs. She wants to be a fashion designer.
What one thing can you not live without?
I used to say sugar, but I’ve given it up. Now probably my eight hours sleep. If I’ve had my sleep, I can do anything.
What's been your silliest moment at QVC?
Too numerous to mention. Regular viewers will know I have propensity to lose the plot on occasion. It’s usually if I’m a little tired to be honest. The thing is, I have a very quirky sense of humour and the littlest things can set me off. I have to say though, laughing is the sunshine of life – laugh lots, live long.
Tell us a joke
In the frozen foods department of my local supermarket, I noticed a man shopping with his son. As I walked by, he checked something off his list, and I heard him whisper to the child, "You know, if we really mess this up, we'll never have to do it again."
