Christmas romance..not for the easily sickened!!

Hi everyone!

Just had to share something with those among you who are as soppy as I am. My partner, Steve, is very good at noticing little hints about things I might like for Christmas and so when I fell in love with a Diamonique heart pendant and ring he was on the ball and ordering in no time. The only problem was that the ring was so popular it sold out and he had to reserve it on 'waitlist'. It's due back in stock in January.

Steve knows how much I love cats, of course, as we share our home with four of them! I love how he wrapped my pressies;

Xmas pres 01

Aren't these little gift cards gorgeous, cat fans?

Xmas pres 02

          Here's the beautiful heart pendant.

Xmas pres 03

Steve borrowed one of my Diamonique ring boxes and put this sweetie
ring inside it so I would still have a ring box to open. He printed a piccy
of the real ring onto a little card.

Xmas pres 04

         The words inside the card read as follows;
"Hello! The lovely people in Liverpool are looking after me until the
second week of January…I can't wait to look amazing on your finger!
In the meantime, have a sweety while you wait! Merry Christmas xxxx"

How fab is that..I can't wait to get my ring now but in a way I'm glad it wasn't ready because I wouldn't have had this lovely little 'gift pending' gift!

What did you get for Christmas? I love hearing from you so please do keep in touch. Did anyone get a proposal this year? Or maybe baby news? Write and tell me!

Lots of love,

Catherine x

    Hi Catherine
You’re pressies looked soo sweet I always think it’s nice to receive pressies later-it stretches Christmas (if that makes sense?!)also because my Daughter and I both have Birthday’s in January I pretend it lasts a month!! not so good for the remaining 11 months though!! I had some lovely pressies, my Husband couldn’t decide which colour bag to buy me-so I had them both along with loads of other things-a lovely pressie from my Daughter(and new partner) a voucher for a “top restaurant” near where we live. No proposals this year I’m afraid that was 3 years ago when my Daughter got engaged but called it off last year-just another thing to happen! Lexi enjoyed opening her pressies too-she was spoilt.
Rebecca really enjoyed Les Mis- Cameron Mackintosh made an entrance at the end. On Christmas Day the plant I bought in remembrance of my Mother flowered-timed really nicely we thought?
Hope you have a lovely New Year and will speak son
    Julie xx

    Hi Catherine
What a great man you”ve got. No one can be sickened by something so sweeeeeeeeeeet. Tell him we all hope there are more men like him in the world.
I had to say my husband was also good and got the hints about what I wanted. And thank God for QVC as it is sometimes hard to find what you want here in Mallorca.
He got me a great Double stars drop earring from Butler and Wilson and a great PJ from carole Hochmen.
And he managed to make me a great card from My Dawn”s christmas kit.
All we both have to say is WHERE WILL WE BE WITHOUT YOU QVC. You all do a great job in making shopping so much fun.
All the best for 2010 to you, your family and everyone at QVC.

    Hi Catherine
Awwwwwww, your gifts are so beautiful, but more than that they are all so thoughtful ! So, what’s your secret to keeping the Romance in your man ?!!!!
I regularly read your blog as I know you have a multi-meow household too. We have one toddler cat (Willow, age 2) and 4 new kittens (all 3/4 months old) who were abandoned half way up our garden path on Hallowe’en. They were so tiny only the biggest of the litter was able to walk ………
Hubby thinks his aunt is rehoming one, but I ain’t parting with any of them – they deserve to stay together, methinks. Their names are Aslan, Portia, Cleo and Larkin. Can you tell I like poetry and literature?!
Thanks for sharing your very special gifts with us. Have a healthy and happy new decade

    Hi Julie,
So good to hear from you again. I’m really pleased you’ve had a lovely Christmas. How great to have got both bags! What a lovely hubby.
Great news about Les Mis and the special appearance! It is a see and see again and again kind of musical.
How wonderful about your plant. That is really special and I’m so glad it happened for you. I know you’ve really been through it so those moments of magic really are extra special.
    I wish you & yours a much happier 2010.

    Hi Magda,
Sounds like you picked a good one, too! What a nice touch the handmade Christmas card was!
So glad you had a fab Christmas. Enjoy wearing your sparkly B&W jewellery. It always perks me up when I wear mine. I’m a fellow fan of Carole Hochman, so cosy and so much choice.
I, too, wonder where I’d be without QVC. I buy so much of my Christmas shopping with QVC, so convenient.
I wish you and that lovely hubby a wonderful 2010!

    Hi Julie,
Your comments about the cats really made me smile apart from them being abandoned but even that seems to have been fate so they could end up with a loving mummy like you.
Their names are beautiful, too. You are a gal after my own heart that’s for sure!
I hope you and all of yours have a magical 2010 together.
Lots of love from Catherine x

    Dear Jojo, Cleo and Babydoll,
What clever cats you are writing in to me! Thank you for the new year wishes and I will pass them on to my four kitties.
I hope the new year brings you lots of purring, catnip and fishy treats!

    Hi Catherine
Hope you had a good New Year. My Husband unfortunately caught my cold so was in bed by 10.00pm. I stayed up to see the New Year in with Lexi!
I was really pleased/surprised about the plant and totally agree with you it was magical. I know my Mother’s still with me. I don’t know if you’ve heard of the American Medium John Edward but I saw him earlier this year in St David’s Hall and he picked on me and gave me a reading-the thing’s he knew were unbelievable-he even knew my Mother’s name!
I do hope 2010 will be a better year for us although not off to a good start-no heating or hot water!
We’re thinking of going to West Wales in a few weeks/months any suggestions as I know you know the area?
    Take Care, speak soon

    Hi Julie,
Oh dear, poor hubby! Hope he’s perked up a bit now.
I think I do know the name John Edward. I do like googling and wikipedia-ing people so will search him out. I’m really pleased you were selected for a reading. My mum treated me to an evening with Colin Fry. We didn’t get chosen but it was a good night out. My favourite bit was taking her to a restaraunt beforehand in Plymouth which was right on the sea! The wall of it was literally being lapped by the waves. We were sat right next to the window and it was lovely.
No heat or hot water?? Nightmare! We had that over Christmastime two years ago and I feel your pain!
If you are headed for Pembrokeshire then Steve says the beautiful town of St David’s is worth a visit. If you are further up the coast then the fishing town of Newquay, famous for its association with poet Dylan Thomas and if you are lucky you may even see the famous Cardigan Bay dolphins! There are too many lovely beaches to mention so Steve says just by driving around you’ll find magical places to visit.
    Lots of love,
    Catherine x

    Hi Catherine
Thanks for that. My Brother goes to St David’s a few times a year as his sister in law has a holiday cottage there-so it must be nice. We’re thinking of going Easter time and maybe abroad in the Summer-depending on Lexi.
I’ve seen Colin Fry a few times and Tony Stockwell but found John Edward the best he even brought my late Father through(who passed when I was 6)-many moons ago!
Hope to have our heating etc sorted tomorrow although BG have been here everyday for 3 weeks-that’s the problem living on a very steep hill-poor gas pressure.
Well back to work tomorrow-hope the weather improves or we’ll be busy, busy, busy and very miserable people!
    Take care, speak soon

    Hi Catherine.
Glad you had a great Christmas. I am so impressed with Steve!! That’s the Welsh in him you see, they pretend they are macho rugby-playing men but deep down they’re big softies!! Your prezzies are fab, I love the pendant and ring. I did well too, my big Welsh softie hubby got me loads of Elemis, Philip Kingsley, Yogi hair wand, 2 Kipling bags (all courtesy of QVC of course!) but I had a bit of a hand in the process ;-) However, the big (or should I say small?!) surprise was a brand new car – a Fiat 500 sport!!! I was gobsmacked! I won’t have it until March, so I got a brochure for Christmas instead – a bit like your ‘gift pending’ ring box! Hope the kids and cats are enjoying the snow. My cats are fascinated with it but don’t go much further than the back door. Happy new year to you and your family, looking forward to seeing you back on air shortly.

    Hi Natasha,
Loved reading your comments! Sounds like you picked a good ‘un! What a fab Christmas you’ve must have been a very good girl all year!
Even though the snow is causing lots of problems it does make it feel nice and Christmassy. I always think January can be a bit glum after all the excitement of the festive period is over and the decs go away so, for me, the snow is lovely and I will miss it!
    Love to you & yours.
    Much love Catherine xxx

    Hi Catherine,
Glad you had a great christmas. Happy new year to you & your family. I had a great time in Switzerland although xmas day was a bit foggy & snowy to see too much up in the mountains, although the gluwein & apple strudel was very nice. I got myself the casio lighted keyboard to try & learn a new instrument for the new year. Right hand is dong okay but the left is still doing it’s own thing or not at all sometimes. Still, will persevere. Like the new ‘funky’ hairstyle, but for me, just a teensy bit longer but still very nice. Just seen Claire, yourself then Alison all following each other on QVC, (hey nearly the perfect day). Take care.
    love David xx

    Hi David,
Great to hear from you! I wondered how your Christmas & New Year went. Gluwein and apple strudel sounds so scrummmmmmy!!! Lovely winter warmers.
I’m chuffed to bits to hear you are learning the keyboard. Keep at it! I hope to hear you’ll be donning the dancing shoes agin soon, too.
Lots of love to you & a belated happy new year!

    Hi Catherine
Did your Diamonique heart ring arrive yet? I would love to see a picture of it on the finger as it’s difficult to tell the actual size from the website pic.
I was supposed to be good this month and not spend money but I caved in and ordered the Diamonique anniversary ring in ruby today. It was such a great price I just had to have it, lol. No willpower at all, I’m afraid! Can’t wait to see what the TSV is on Friday. :)

    Hi Corinne,
No I don’t have the ring yet as Steve had it sent to his mum & dad’s in Wales. As he thought it would arrive sooner he had hoped that when he visited them a couple of weeks ago it may have arrived so I’m still patiently waiting!
With regard to the size, the heart itself would probably fit inside the circumference of a penny if you see what I mean? This is from memory but gives you an idea of how much space it has on the finger. Lovely & large!
Your willpower sounds like mine when it comes to Diamonique but I hope you enjoy every minute of wearing your new ring. It’s lovely to have a January treat.
The friday TSV? I LOVE it! I’ve been wearing it a lot and so have some of the other presenters so you may have already seen it!
    Take care & much love,
    Catherine x

    Hi Catherine
That’s great, thank you. Gives me a good idea of the size.
I also love the large emerald cut simulated emerald ring shown yesterday. I don’t recall the TSV necklace but I have not managed to watch many of the shows this week as it’s been so busy at work. I just check the Diamonique listings on the web in the evenings. : ) I was gutted I missed out on the snowflake earrings earlier this week as I have the matching pendant. I always get compliments when I wear that. So pretty.
I wore the solitaire twist ring (last Diamonique TSV) to work today. One of my colleagues just couldn’t take her eyes off it whilst talking to me. I could tell she was dying to know if it was the real thing, lol. I honestly don’t think you can tell the difference. The cut and clarity is superb.
