Christmas Party Beauty Essentials

We’re all excited here at the office and very much looking forward to our Christmas party – what to wear, who will be there, and of course, our make-up! But, as we’ve discovered, make-up isn’t the only beauty product we will be thinking carefully about before the big event. What about skincare? And hair – hello?!

In fact, between us we’ve such a diverse range of must-haves to get ourselves party-ready that we decided to share them with you. So we coerced some of our workmates from the social and digital teams into telling us their beauty must-haves for the Christmas party!

Read on for some skincare prep and easy-to-apply eyeshadow tricks, plus perfect festive nail shades!

Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder and Benefit High Beam Complexion Enhancer

Benefit Hoola Bronzer is my go-to product all year round for a subtle sun-kissed glow, but teamed with Benefit High Beam it’s a winning combination for a glamorous party look. Simply dot High Beam on your cheeks and brow bones for a radiant, luminescent finish.

GlamGlow Tingling & Exfoliating Mud Mask

Don’t be alarmed by the thick, mud-like texture, as once you apply this mask you’ll realise what all the fuss is about. It tingles on application, but that assures me it’s working its magic, and leaves my skin super soft and looking so much brighter. I’ll be using this the night before our office party for the perfect little pick-me-up.

OPI Big Apple Red

Whenever I get my nails done at the salon I think ‘I’ll try something new today’, but always come out wearing OPI’s Big Apple Red. It’s become a bit of a running joke with my beauty therapist but the classic red hue never lets me down. This will be my go-to shade for the party season.

This has been tough to pick just five, but here are my Christmas party essentials that I love and swear by!

Radical Skincare Instant Revitalising Mask

Before any big event I like to prep my complexion. I swear by Radical’s Instant Revitalising Mask – it hydrates my skin, makes it glow  and has an amazing formula – you can feel the oxygen bubbles working their magic.

Mally Shadow Stick Xtra

I’m not that great at applying eyeshadow, that’s why I love Mally’s genius shadow sticks. They last for ages and the pigments are really good!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

This is the one mascara that I always go back to, especially for parties. The formula is long-lasting, the brush is lovely and the overall effect is gorgeous!

tarte Amazon Escape Eyeshadow & Blush Palette

This palette is great for creating a multitude of looks and the blushes are long-lasting too.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Color

How could I not include a lipstick?! My favourites have to be Bobbi Brown’s – depending on my outfit, I love to finish off my lipstick with Red Carpet or True Pink – sometimes I mix them together to create my own custom shade.

A’Kin Rosehip Oil

This is probably my favourite product at the moment. I have always avoided face oils as I have combination to oily skin and I thought that this type of product would  give me breakouts, but this had the opposite effect! Since I started using this oil I noticed that my skin feels softer, brighter, less oily and moisturized at the same time. I will definitely use this on the day of the Christmas party, applying it before the moisturiser as it gives a healthy glow and helps foundation blend into the skin.

L’Occitane Almond Milk Veil

I absolutely love this body lotion, it has a delicious scent and absorbs quickly into the skin, keeping it moisturised all day. Also, it contains micro pearls that give a slight shimmer to the skin – great for those days when you want to add a special touch!

Benefit Gimme Brow & Mini They’re Real

This duo is my go-to make-up product whenever I have a big party to attend. The mascara gives a high impact, voluminous look to my lashes, while Gimme Brow is great to fill in the gaps in my brows and make them look thicker – and the little brush makes it very easy to apply. Plus the mini size is very handy to keep in the clutch for touch-ups.

Lulu’s Time Bomb Eye Balm

I was looking for a good eye balm as the area around my eyes tend to get quite dry during the winter, and I just fell in love with this one from Lulu’s Time Bomb. I have been using this every day and it won’t be different on the day of the Christmas party – I have noticed my dark circles appear to have diminished and the smoothing effect really helps when applying concealer.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

An oldie but a goodie! If my skin is feeling really dull and congested and I want to make sure it’s in tip-top Christmas party condition, I use this morning and night for a clean, fresh, glowing complexion.

Flora Mare Peel Off Mask

The night before the party, I’ll apply this in quite a thin layer (less is more) and leave it on for around 20 minutes while I fake tan. It’s such a satisfying feeling when you peel off the mask and check out how bright your skin looks after! I love the smell too.

James Read Instant Bronzing Mist

There’s no way these legs are seeing the cold, wintery light of day without a little help from some fake tan! I love this bronzing mist because it’s so easy to apply, dries quickly and leaves me streak-free and feeling great!

Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation

I love using this as it makes my skin look so smooth and even-toned! It gives a medium to full coverage and I would highly recommend if you have combination skin that’s prone to blemishes.

Leighton Denny Gold Save the Queen Nail Lacquer

This gold is perfect for adding a touch of Christmas magic to any outfit! I can’t wait to wear this on my nails!blog_Images33
