I invested in our bumper pack of gift wrap, also extremely convenient as it contains loads of bags, tags and tissue paper. I'm awful at wrapping presents but the bags mean almost everything's wrapped up already and looking super festive under my tree.
I've been incredibly busy with the play I recently acted in and co-produced. We had rave reviews and fabulous attendance. I met lots of wonderful QVC viewers who had come from as far away as Blackpool and Glasgow to see it. I was overwhelmed by the support from my colleagues, too.
The independent reviews were gobsmackingly good. What a relief! I'd need a day to write the blog I'd really like to about it all and to thank everyone individually! Sadly, I'm rather short on time at the minute what with lots of exciting shows to prepare for on our fabulous channel.
Speaking of which, we've been written about in several publications of late but one stands out for me. December's edition of Vogue features a wonderful write up by jewellery editor and author, Carol Woolton. I was chuffed to bits with her comments about me! She made my year!
This year is a particularly special year for QVC as we celebrated our 20th anniversary here in the UK. I joined a decade ago and remember the 10th anniversary celebrations. Clare Sutton has been here for 15 years. The two of us attended a special evening to commemorate all QVC employees 10, 15 or 20 years of service. We were very well looked after alongside a room full of other fab QVC people. A wonderful evening was had by all, including our plus ones. Claire's being her lovely husband, Dan, and mine being my fab best friend, Mandy.
So much has happened in the past few months. Some of which has been exciting, some nerve wracking, some wonderful, some very happy and some extremely sad. The QVC family have lost several very special people this year, some you will know from on screen and others who have been a part of our lives off screen for many years. They will forever be in our hearts and memories, as will their nearest and dearest.
On that note I'd like to wish you all as many happy, wonderful, exciting, loving and beautiful moments as possible this season (and always). No one knows how many moments we have left so I think we owe it to ourselves and those around us to make each one as memorable and special as possible. There are bound to be inevitable lows but that makes it all the more important to make the most of the highs we are blessed with.
Much love to you all, Catherine xxx
