Well folks, it’s almost here!
The tree is up, turkey ordered, and I’m running out of wrapping paper already – which is my excuse for the lack of gifts at present! (Excuse the pun!)
We are indeed closing in on the time where all last minute panic is nearly over, and whatever didn’t get done, probably won’t get done! And, guess what? It won’t be the end of the world either! I usually get to that stage at about 3pm on Christmas Eve.
If I’ve been rushing around (and I usually am), I love it when I get home and close the door behind me. The kettle gets switched on and I think to myself: ‘If I’ve forgotten anything, hey ho! Doesn’t matter, everyone will still have a lovely time.’
Then I have a cuppa and a mince pie, and all is again well in the world!
I do love Christmas, I almost love the build up as much as the actual day itself!
Part of this build-up is our presenters Christmas lunch, which is always a hoot! And usually a very noisy hoot at that too! (Please see photos!)
We always do a secret Santa, but this year my pressie seemed to be everyone’s favourite, all thanks to Jackie – you can check out the evidence here! (I now know what we’ll all be doing Chez Dawson after lunch this Christmas… hysterical!)
This year seems to have been busier than usual in the run-up to the festive season, but in a good way… lots of lovely trips out to the theatre and some delicious dinners too!
Last Thursday Louise came down for the day. I met her at Kings Cross station at 11.30 in the morning and we didn’t stop chatting until her evening train which was at half past eight! We did, however, manage to squeeze in a lunch (check out our dessert!) a musical, and some afternoon tea! It was such a great day.
I just absolutely love the times we get to spend together.
Well sadly it’s not quite 3pm on Christmas Eve just yet……..and so I’m dashing off to sort out a few more bits and Christmas bobs!
Looking forward to catching up with you all over the festive season but, should we miss each other, have a truly magical Christmas!
Lots of love and festive cheer,
