As always I’ve been running around the world since my last visit to QVC. There have been so many events that have taken place in Los Angeles since the Oscars, when I had the pleasure of escorting the lovely Julia Roberts around Hollywood.
Then Ross King of ITV’s ‘Daybreak’ came to our studio to view the collection that was being worn during the award season. It was a treat to be on the show and present our newest clutches and jewels. Watch below to see Ross’s stateside visit…

The Creative Coalition
After all the award season excitement, I had the chance to once again visit the White House in Washington DC, and speak to the Presidential committee about the importance of the arts. As part of the The Creative Coalition organisation, a group of celebrities who also work in this endeavour came to lend their voice, and I styled them for the numerous events that took place.
Alyssa Milano (of ‘Who’s The Boss’ and ‘Charmed’ fame) carried a medium-sized tote bag in tan and switched to a black tote for the evening. She absolutely sparkled in my diamonds. Patricia Arquette (star of ‘Medium’) opted for some bold jewels, a big day tote and a multi-colour evening bag in purple and pink. Her brother, actor David Arquette, joined us as well.
Then for the big ball, I worked with all the women who came with us, including America Ferrara who starred in ‘Ugly Betty’. She chose a sparkly clutch and an assortment of my diamond and sapphire jewels.
LA to New York
After that I went back to LA to work on next year’s collection and then flew to Miami Beach for a fashion show that featured my clothing, handbags, accessories and jewels. The exotic scene was enhanced by the fabulous Florida weather, and all the mojitos and pina coladas really added to the fun. My new smaller to medium-sized tote bags were featured, and you’ll be able to find these during my August show on QVC.
I went back and forth to New York City several times for press events and a trunk show in SoHo. That was fantastic. I always enjoy my visits to the Big Apple and this time I was treated to see the musical ‘Priscilla’. It’s the same one from the West End in London and we had a blast. I also ran into some of our lovely ladies who watch my shows on QVC UK – Bertie, Sharon and Audrey from Manchester, and they had my handbags with them! (Please send me that photo, Sharon!)
Niecy’s Wedding and Eva’s Charity Weekend
In addition to all the shows and events I was doing, an actress friend of mine, Niecy Nash, had asked me to purchase accessories as gifts for her bridesmaids and wanted me to style the ladies for her wedding, including her jewellery and clutch.
What a fun project! Although seeing as Niecy was lovingly calling her bridesmaids ‘DIVAS’ – I was wondering what I was getting myself into. The wedding was stunning, it was held at an estate in Malibu just above the beach, and my accessories went well with the dresses. A lot of celebrity guests danced the night away – as did I!
Now we’re getting ready for Eva Longoria’s big charity weekend in Las Vegas. The event is to raise money for Children’s Hospital and Padres Contra El Cancer, and it will be a star-studded group of events. I’ve already pulled some of the handbags used on ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Brothers and Sisters’ and donated them to Eva’s fundraiser. I’ll also be there styling the celebrities and giving makeover tips to the donors. Viva Las Vegas!
I’m also preparing to go to Tuscany to choose the leather and trims for next year’s collection of handbags. I’ll be in Florence and Prato and in the Tuscan countryside, being creative. We’ve come up with many new ideas for the tanneries to create for us.
QVC in August
I’m also really excited about my August show on QVC. We’ve been working on creating many new shapes and sizes in beautiful, luxurious hand-painted leather. I think you’re going to love the medium-sized handbags that are fabulous and functional all at once. We’ve used an array of leather styles, some which are similar to my embossed effects of crocodile and snake, and some solid colours and textures all offering a new look.
In my shows you’ll get to see some styles that have just been launched in Hollywood, and other styles that no one in the world has viewed yet… QVC has them first!
Please call in and have a chat during my shows on Thursday 4th August. I love hearing from you all. Also, in between my visits you can follow my adventures on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/CharlieLapsonStyle
Sending over a big cyber hug…
Ps. Here are some more photos from my time from the wedding and the Creative Coalition.
