Firstly, congratulations to Ellen Joy Gordon the lucky winner in last week’s competition.
Do watch out for more competitions very soon on my blog and twitter. I’m @mecharliebrook. I’m in the midst of securing some fabulous prizes!
How has your week been? Ours has been non-stop especially with the essential surgery my Cairn Terrier had to undergo
I’ll keep the details to a minimum just in case you’re not too keen on matters of a medical nature – especially when it comes to eyes!
Bramble had a recent check up at our Vet (who is brilliant by the way) who noticed an anomaly in her right eye.
On his recommendation we made an appointment with a veterinary eye specialist. Bramble was a model patient. She just sat there quietly while they ran all the tests. Every now and then she gave me a look as if to say ‘why are they doing this to me… I don’t understand!’ I really felt for her.
The tests revealed she needed important surgery as she was at considerable risk of her retina becoming detached among other possible complications.
Well, she was the model patient and the surgery went beautifully. I was amazed to learn that she even has dissolvable stitches on her eyeball. She also has a new lens in the right eye, of which she’s very proud, I’m sure! To be honest, I don’t think she cares less, she’s just relieved, as are we, to be back home! She’ll soon be back in the garden digging holes and chasing balls.
Huge thanks to the veterinary surgeon and his team for their great work and special thanks to my vet for spotting the condition in the first place.
I’m rather relieved to have pet insurance too! Phew!
Busy times at QVC as well with some more fabulous shows on the way too.
If you catch me on air from time to time you’ll know how much I love my food. Well, looking ahead on the schedule I see I’m launching the rather brilliant Kuhn Rikon Ceramic Pan with lid this coming Monday 12th January at midnight. I’ll be on air with Mark Charles and no doubt I’ll tuck into some of the wonderful dishes he’ll create with the pan.
In the meantime I’m due to pop some drops in Bramble’s eye (six times a day) so I’d better dash.
Take care and see you soon.
