Firstly, accent nails are hot and essential this summer. To create a new modern look, apply different colours to different nails.
Accent not just your ring finger but also the index finger and thumb. You can also do some simple nail art in a chic way that everyone can achieve such as, colour blocking on the nail, on the diagonal or on the free edge in a contrasting bright colour. A white or neon is a good universal colour.
Geometric shapes or stripes in a contrasting colour can also be applied to the nail by using your varnish. Use a very fine brush that you can get from an art shop or if you have a spare Leighton Denny corrector brush, that would be the perfect shape.
Why not try applying a bright eyeliner colour with a clean lid? As you get older, this means lid primer and nude shadows to prep, followed by the season trend of a bright blue liner or a luminous bright shade to co-ordinate with an outfit.
If you're younger or very on-trend, you can wear this look with a completely nude eye and no mascara. If that’s one step too far in the fashion stakes then use a black mascara and black liner on the upper lashes with a nude lid and perfect brows. We have some great choices from Mally, Laura Geller and Stila.
To make the most of the texture, length, style and cut of your hair this summer, invest in hair serums and creams that can be used both wet and dry.
These will allow you to control frizz or offer more fullness, whether you're washing your hair or touching up on day two or three.
All of these products when used regularly will help to improve hair quality and strength, as well as helping to prevent breakages and damage.
This summer’s look does have a more groomed appearance but in a more stylish way than in previous years. The good news is it doesn’t take too much time to achieve as you're not having to do lots of shadow or blending work. Nonetheless, foundation and complexion is still as essential as its always been, to show off these bold fashion statements.
Enjoy, as I have, changing your look.
