Caught on camera!

Oskar getting in the festive spiritI can't believe it's Christmas tomorrow, the last month seems to have raced by. I hope you all managed to get all your Christmas shopping done. I ordered a couple of last minute gifts from QVC last Thursday evening and am delighted to say they arrived this morning – impressive!

Everything's ready now except for wrapping a few more gifts and icing the Christmas cake, which I always leave until Christmas Eve. Sophie will be staying over for a couple of nights so Oskar the kitten will too. She has been trying to get him in the festive mood by buying him his own little santa hat… I just managed to catch it on camera before he wriggled out of it! Sophie also got a hat for Poppy but I don't think that will get much wear!

Oskar has been suprisingly good with our Christmas tree. He hasn't attempted to climb it and has only had the occasional surreptitious swipe at a bauble. I think it is because we are mainly in the room and usually playing with gift wrap ribbon with him! He also loves to attack Zeberdee, the toy zebra, even though at fourteen weeks he is only just as big as him.

Poppy is still not very friendly towards him but she is getting better and maybe having him here for two full days will encourage her to accept him… he just wants to be her friend!

I'm off for a few days now, back on air on Saturday 29th with pilates… I'll need it after all the indulging I'm planning on doing!

Have a lovely Christmas, much love Julia xx

Merry Christmas Julia. Thanks for your Christmas card. Hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas. Love the picture of Oskar, tried to put a santa hat on my cat but he wasn’t in the festive mood and knocked it off straight away!
Hope you have a wonderful New Year. I’ll be watching the pilates shows at the weekend, I’ll need to get on mine and work off all chocolates I’ve been indulging in! :-)

    Hi Julia
Love the photo of Oskar, very cute. Hope he and Poppy have been treated to a few left over turkey dinners like Casper. Unlike us, they never tire of it, lol!!
Just about to get on my pilates machine for a work out after all the excess indulging! Casper is joining me. Well, he likes to help out by adding a few extra pounds to my work out. Very thoughtful, don’t you think!

    Me again Julia!
Did you choose a photo for your book cover? Cos I was just thinking, if you choose ‘purple’, you could call the book ‘Purple Reign’. After all, you are the queen of QVC! LOL!!
I blame the pilates work outs Julia, they bring out the silly billy in me!

    Hi Julia,
Love the photograph of Oskar, Poppy will soon get use to Oskar, it is just another cat coming into her space. Cats are very territorial animals.
One of our Cats kept hiding under the Christmas Tree, hoping we would not notice him so that he could get up to mischief. At the moment he is sat looking out of the window at the pigeons, he keeps banging his nose on the window when he dives at them.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas, and I expect it was nice to have Sophie stay.
Wishing you and your family a Very Happy New Year.
    Love Jean X

    Hi Patricia-ann
We had a lovely family time thanks. Oskar was a source of entertainment but unfortunately Poppy was not amused … she sulked in our bedroom most of the time. Back to normal now though.
    Happy and healthy 2013

    Hi Alana
We had a really good time thanks – it just seemed to be over so quickly! We did manage to put the santa hat on Poppy but it only lasted seconds!
Hope you enjoyed the Pilates shows? My New Year Resolution is to get back to using mine more regularly ….. no excuses!
    Speak soon

    Hi Marian
I’m just wondering which bit of you Casper sits on whilst you are trying to do your Pilates work out? Although Sophie, Chris and I didn’t have turkey I cooked a turkey crown for Daniel and his nana so Oskar had a few little treats but Poppy turned her nose up!!
I already have the title for the book, ‘One Hundred Lengths of the Pool’, but maybe I should write a book to celebrate my twenty years at QVC …… perhaps that could be called ‘Purple Reign’ LOL!!!!
    Happy New Year
    love

    Hi Julia
Casper sits on whatever part of me he can during my pilates work out! On my chest during the warm up and cool down. Other times on my legs or on the platform either behind or in front of me depending on where he can get! There are a couple of exercises where I have to plonk him on the floor by the side of me, during ‘legs in straps’ for instance, (I always think that sounds like something out of ‘Fifty Shades’ LOL!!) During these brief moments, he gives me that ‘you so should be reported to the RSPCA’ glare! Being a cat lover, I’m sure you know the one I mean!! And that’s when he’s not trying desperately to get back on the platform!!
    xx
