Gatineau's 13th Birthday

Hi everyone,

I am so excited to be celebrating 13 years of Gatineau skincare with Andrew this weekend. Some may think that 13 is an unlucky number, but there is an exception to every rule and I can assure you that you are certainly the lucky ones this Saturday 10th October!

In preparation for the shows, I had a great meeting with Olivia from Gatineau, and boy, are you in for a real treat with a brand new launch, exclusive to QVC!

I've been lucky enough to try these products so I couldn’t wait to tell you all about them. The range is called Aquamemory and it's a new hydrating range of Gatineau skincare. Suitable for all skin types and all ages, what I instantly loved was the textures and the fragrance. 

The Moisture Replenish Cream is a cream gel texture, so it’s light in texture but rich in comfort. So clever! I have quite oily skin but this is so beautiful on my complexion. And the Concentrate? Wow, this sinks in immediately and left my skin feeling literally dewy fresh.

What I didn’t realise is that we all suffer from dehydration at some point whether we have normal, dry, oily or combination skin.  As I mentioned my skin is quite oily, but with harsh studio lights, and a hectic schedule (especially this week) my skin can feel tight, which is apparently dehydration.  Age may also have something to do with it. Well, age, beware! I come armed with a great skincare brand, like Gatineau!

So this new line of products is fantastic for me as a burst of moisture for when my skin is a little thirsty.  I am currently slotting this into my skincare routine and using the serum and cream for a month to give my skin a pick me up as we head into autumn.

After just a few days I have already noticed the difference. I love, love, love them! Thank you Mr Bagley, another great find for my bathroom cabinet!

My ever-changing hairstyles!

Hi everyone.

Don't know how many of you have noticed but my hair has changed yet again! What can I say? I've always loved the joys of being a girl - make-up, hair, nails, fashion. There's just so much to try. I find it's a lot of fun to experiment with different looks.

If I had to pigeon-hole myself into one genre or 'style' I think it would be impossible. Much like my vast and varied musical tastes my image is also very 'eclectic' shall we say? I've had almost every hair colour you can imagine and have had extreme styles like shaved sides and spiked hair to the more conservative dark brown bob and everything in between.

I've always been this way from as far back into childhood as I can remember! I always had dolls, Girls' World, make-up and a mass of dress-up clothes. One thing I asked Father Christmas for from around the age of seven was long blonde hair. He brought me other great things but not the hair.

I recently tried Clix clip-in hair extensions on QVC with the lovely and stylish Lizzie Cundy. They looked awesome. They are from Racoon, who specialise in professional hair extensions.

It just so happens that my hairdresser, Richard Ward, offers these so I decided to take matters into my own hands and take the plunge as my old school reunion was looming. I love them! I've had quite a few people ask me how my hair has grown so fast! People who haven't seen me for while, mostly.

Elemis Spa at QVC

Elemis recently recreated their spa experience at our very own 'QVC Towers' including reclining massage chairs, a full complement of Elemis-trained beauty therapists, a skin analysis machine and a Q&A session with Elemis expert therapist, Keeley Aydin (pictured with me, left)!

She even treated everyone to a sneak preview of their next Today's Special Value item. Elemis' latest product, which is included in the TSV set, has already had masses of attention in the beauty press!

Members of staff at QVC were given the opportunity to receive professional treatments in return for a donation to charity. What a genius idea, eh? I hear it was a fantastic day. Unfortunately that was on my day off and I wasn't aware it was happening but fortunately for me the very next day was a day for some of our customers who had been selected at random to attend.

Not only did I get to see the forthcoming TSV but I had a great time chatting to everyone who had come from far and wide to be there. These two ladies (right) are looking extremely relaxed and glowing after their pampering facials in the massage chairs.

My Desert Island Beauty

It's July! It's Beauty Month on QVC!

I was thrilled to be given my own show of Desert Island Beauty products with our resident beauty expert Alison Young. The only thing is my desert island better be huge because I have a list a mile long of favourite beauty buys! It's so long, in fact, that instead of my show being one hour long it has been extended to an hour and a half this Thursday 9th July from 4pm!

We have so much choice at QVC that it's like being a kid in a candy store. I love trying out all sorts of things. I have always been very heavily into make-up and nail care (having been a qualified nail technician with masses of experience in stage make-up). I just love it. If I weren't a presenter now I think make-up artist would be in my top three of other jobs I might be doing.

I was never bothered by skincare, though. For years I just used any old thing but that's changed over the last couple of years as I now have concerns I didn't have when I first started at QVC! Now I'm a complete beauty junkie!

My night at the BAFTAs

Oh what a weekend!

I have been bouncing off the walls ever since I found out that I'd be attending the BAFTAs and presenting Jewellery from the BAFTAs Style Suite.

My preparations for the event began about a week ago. I treated myself to a professionally applied spray tan which was wonderful. Just one problem - I must have slept with my palms against my new tan and awoke to find my hands were, by far, the brownest part of my body! Luckily they faded a bit.

A day or two before the long-awaited BAFTA ceremony my son developed a very nasty virus. He shared it with me and I lost my voice on Saturday and felt hideous. I was determined to be there though, no matter what!

What a fun day I had with Prescriptives!

This week I went to visit the Prescriptives team at their super stylish London office. It was great to spend a few hours really getting know this brand even better and to learn about their latest shiny new awards, too.

I am presenting their 5th Anniversary show on Wednesday 15th April at 3pm and trust me on this, you are in for some pretty special, never-ever-been-seen-before offers including Anniversary Prices and limited edition collectable make-up!

Prescriptives are so thrilled about the show that they are bringing in members of their counter consultant team as models. I'm really looking forward to meeting them and I'm told that they are over the moon about being on telly!

It's great to be a girl!

I've always loved playing with make-up, hair and generally experimenting with style. This Sunday I'm in for a real treat, as are you if you tune in for our exciting Big Brand Day! I'll be with you for three very girly hours!

At 2pm I'll be joined by style icon Lulu Guinness MBE for an hour of her scrumptious accessories. Since we launched the range together on QVC I have become a true Lulu devotee!

I bought her red patent purse to begin with, then my partner, Steve, bought me her red patent 'Carmella' bag and I have to admit to treating myself to the same one in black as I adore the design so much! I now have the black patent purse on my wish-list to go with it. Look out for some Easy Pay options during the show too.
