It's great to be a girl!

I've always loved playing with make-up, hair and generally experimenting with style. This Sunday I'm in for a real treat, as are you if you tune in for our exciting Big Brand Day! I'll be with you for three very girly hours!

At 2pm I'll be joined by style icon Lulu Guinness MBE for an hour of her scrumptious accessories. Since we launched the range together on QVC I have become a true Lulu devotee!

I bought her red patent purse to begin with, then my partner, Steve, bought me her red patent 'Carmella' bag and I have to admit to treating myself to the same one in black as I adore the design so much! I now have the black patent purse on my wish-list to go with it. Look out for some Easy Pay options during the show too.

My new nameless sweetheart...

As many of you know I am just a little bit cat-crazy. Pixie and Popsie are my lovely girls and, as of around a week ago, they have gained a beautiful baby brother!

He's just so adorable and they all get on really well, too. My greatest concern was that they might not get on but it's like we've always had him now.

Just one little problem about this boy - we can't decide on a name!

Welcome to my very own shiny new blog! A new blog for a new year.

This year I have made a few resolutions and, so far, I'm doing well to stick with them. The main one was to make more of an effort to spend time with family and friends as time slips away too fast.

I know this only too well after the loss of Steve's grandfather over Christmas and then, less than two weeks ago, my grandmother passed away too.

It makes you realise that life is very precious and we ought to give ourselves the best chance at a happy, healthy and fulfilled life. This leads me on to another resolution and that is to get back on my pilates machine (even my cats are excited about it!) and to get those Paul McKenna CDs and DVDs back into my routine.

New year, old friends!

It's a been a very busy and bittersweet new year so far. Sadly, my partner Steve's grandfather, Tyssul, passed away over the festive period. If you are a crafter you may have seen the one and only complete scrapbook I've ever made which was for Tyssul's 90th birthday in 2008.

Last Saturday we paid tribute to a full and fascinating life of a man who will be missed by many. As Tyssul was a prisoner of war in Taiwan a wonderful man, Mr Hughes MBE,  Vice President of the Burma Star Association travelled around 70 miles to offer a very moving soldier's prayer.

Mr Hughes' salute appeared as firm and strong as that of any twenty year old and that, in itself, made me really stop and think of all the 'forgotten soldiers' and how their young lives were spent in comparison to the luxury of freedom we now know.

I sincerely believe there is always something positive to be found even in the saddest of situations. The church was absolutely full and many stayed after for tea and cakes.

Steve's mum made the observation that many people only seem to meet up for major occasions in life but we forget to keep in touch on a regular basis. She expressed how important it is that we all don't let time slip away.

Her words really hit home with me and so this is the little bit of 'something positive' to be had from that discussion.
