Five years at QVC!

Wow. Five whole years at QVC and so much has happened in that time! I always say that how I came to be a presenter on QVC is a real 'Cinderella' story.

I was working as a dental nurse when one of the companies we sold toothpaste for asked me to represent them on QVC as a guest for 'Janina whitening toothpaste'.

I did it as a favour and was paid in toothpaste! Well from there I was asked if I would audition as a QVC presenter and several months later. Out of thousands of applicants, to my bemused surprise, I got the job!

I was looking back through some old photos and thought I'd share these with you. I always try to appreciate every moment and never forget where I came from and how blessed I have been. When I saw my lighted mirror in my dressing room I was so excited! Don't ask me why, it's just kind of special.

The photo in our salon set (left) is of myself and Dickie, one of our talented floor managers. It was taken on a day when I had to present 'Nads' hair removal system without a guest or model for 12 minutes!

Dickie volunteered to let me wax his legs for the demonstration. What a star..of course we were a bit cheeky with the chatter along the lines of 'Got unwanted hair? Get your 'Nads' out!' Ok, enough said about that, and moving on...

This 'glam' pic (right) was taken when we were filming a Christmas Day shoot. I love getting all glammed up and taking part in these shoots, I always take my camera along, too!

One of the very best things about my job is something I hadn't anticipated at all when I started and that is the contact I have with so many of you. Letters, cards, emails and even meeting up with some of you. You've no idea how special you've made my journey so far. I mean that with all my heart.

I hope you can find time to join me on Saturday 27th December at 11am for my hour-long 5th Anniversary show. I have chosen everything for the show. Some of my all-time favourites.

It seems no time at all since you first appeared on our screens - how time flies - its a bit scary really when you think how quickly time passes.

Hi Catherine, I just want to say a big THANK YOU for being brave enough to be measured on the recent item you did for slim & lift. I have put some weight on over the past few months and at times feel quite disgusted by myself and how I look. I am quite tall 5'6" and sometimes look in the mirror and think I don't look too bad, but most of the time I feel really fat. You have a lovely figure and when your waist was measured at 32" I could not believe it, mine also is 32"! I was so happy to think if I had a similar figure to yours I could not be as disgusting as I imagined myself to be. I think a lot of the time we look in the mirror and don't see ourselves as we really are, and how other people see us. Thank You again Catherine, if I look as good as you do then I'm happy.
