My favourite and funniest Christmas gifts

10

Pixie and Popsie Hi everyone,

I can’t believe how Christmas has crept up on us so fast again. I’m just off out to get the kids their advent calendars and we’ll be putting up our tree and all the decorations tomorrow night – can’t wait! I even ordered kitty advent calendars for the cats, Pixie & Popsie (left), from the Cats Protection League!

I just wondered what your worst and best Christmas presents have been. I would say my best was a bracelet that my very thoughtful man, Steve, had made for me by a very well-known Welsh jeweller called Rhiannon.

I think the most humourous presents I get are always from my son, Tom, who’s now 16. He has a very quirky and alternative sense of humour and buys me completely inappropriate cards like ‘Happy birthday to a special one year old boy’.

He has even wrapped things up from his room as presents, like old action figures he obviously no longer plays with – very random!

I’m looking forward to having a good old giggle hearing about your best and funniest gifts!

Love Catherine x

What beautiful cats- quite stunning. They must be related – to each other that is!

    Hello Kathryn,
Thank you, they are gorgeous, aren’t they? They’re sisters and they are not at all interested in their advent calendars! Catnip dusted mice treats, even I think they sound quite enticing but they had a sniff and looked at me as if to say ‘I’m sorry? Did you really call me from my snoozy spot in the sun on the windowsill for this? Hmph!’
They do say dogs have owners, cats have staff. Choosy little wotsits, hee hee.

    Hi Catherine
On a different subject, I just wanted to say that I love your nails, and I always look forward to your shows as I can’t wait to see what colour nail polish you’re wearing!
    All the best

    Hiya Catherine,
One of the best Christmas present I ever had was a drum kit….okay I know, an acquired taste! Ha ha ha! But it was waiting for me in America! It also marked the beginning of a wonderful time in my life and 10 very happy years in the American music scene.
However, at the risk of sounding like a complete soppy loon…my all time favourite present is that of friendship; it means more to me than material things every could.
Hope you N yours have a wonderful Christmas!
Kiss puss-cats in between the ears for us won’t you!

I don’t think I have ever had a present that I have never liked, as I tend to look at everything as gift is that person telling me that they are thinking of me and that I mean something to them.

    Hi Pauline,
Thanks for the comments regarding my nails. I’ve always loved my acrylics because I thought I just couldn’t have nice nails of my own but since using Nail Envy from OPI they have gone from strength to strength, quite literally! I love all the colours we do at QVC. Hard to choose favourites so I have loads of Leighton Denny, Nails Inc and OPI and really enjoy wearing colours now my nails are better looking. Simple pleasures!
    Hi there Julie,
Nice to hear from you. Music is a fab gift and being gifted enough to play for others makes it a gift to those who hear it. I love hearing live music and, as I don’t play an instrument myself, am in awe of those who can.
Friends are indeed great gifts, not soppy at all!
Lots of love to you and you Felix & Smudge too.

    Hi Catherine
Your cats are beautiful. Like you all my pets get there own advent calendar. (1 dog, 2 rabbits, 2 hamsters). They know the noise of me opening it and are waiting for their treat.
My best pressie has to be my keyboard my parents bought me to sit my higher music, i still have it and play it.
My worst pressie would be toiletries from my inlaws out of the pound shop. I only do QVC toiletries!
    Merry Christmas.

    Hi Julie,
Sounds like you have a lovely furry houseful, pets are so addictive, the more you have the more you want, I find!
A keyboard’s a fantastic present, again it gives not just to the person receiving it but everyone who listens, too. Especially nice at this time of year.
You made me giggle about the toiletries as I have become very spoilt for my QVC stuff, too. I always used to buy cheapy stuff because I didn’t realise what a difference it could make. I am waiting for an order of Philosophy bath gels including my favourite from them, cinnamon buns. I’m ‘supposedly’ splitting the set for gifts but can’t see it happening!
    Enjoy your Christmas.

    Hi Catherine,
The card from your son reminds me of a card that my class gave to a supply teacher after my absence at school camp for two weeks. The day I was due back they gave a card to her with ‘With sympathy at the loss of a good friend’! Thankfully she had a sense of humour!
I adore your cats, they’re almost as cute as my two!

    Hi there!
I just have to comment on your two beautiful cats. They are both stunning, little supermodels.
    Please, what breed are they?
Happy Christmas to you all and Happy New Year
