My Paul McKenna training

7

Catherine's qualification Hi, me again! I’ve just been on a tough seven-day intensive training course learning some of the same techniques Paul McKenna uses in breakthrough systems like I Can Make You Thin and I Can Make You Confident. It’s called NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and it teaches you how to help people overcome obstacles in their lives.

The training was intensive with a lot of ten-hour days, but it was worth it – I am now a licensed NLP practitioner! So now I’ll be much better qualified to give advice to people who need it. Plus, it will help with the book I’m writing about having a positive outlook to life and coping with difficulties – if I ever get time to finish it!

I’ll keep you posted!

Love,

Catherine x

Hi Barbara, really good of you to write. I’m a bit of a ‘learn-aholic’. I love going on courses and learning new skills. The most valuable part of the course, for me, was learning how to help people through hypnotism. There was a lady on the course with me who had been terrified of spiders for years. I worked with her for about half an hour and by the end of this time she was not only in the same room as a real live tarantula but she was holding it in her hands!! It was not anything like I thought it was going to be. It was very focussed in positivity which is really important to me.
Thanks again for your kindness in congratulating me. May your obstacles be few and easy to overcome. Love Catherine x

    Hi Catherine,
NLP is a fascinating subject, I am also a bit of a learning fiend and find it to be a great way to get better at communicating with people.
You might be interested in finding out about using coaching as with NLP. I find that it allows me to focus on the person and their pictures of the world rather than on me having to give them the right advice.
    Happy NLPing
    best wishes
    Helen

Hi Helen, great to hear from you. Sometimes I feel there just isn’t enough time to do all the things I want to do and learn about everything I’d like to! I also love Louise Hay’s books which I often recommend to people. Sometimes, as a nation, we can be so critical of each other so I think it’s much more healthy to find ways to help each other and create more harmony. This does lead to people calling me ‘too nice’ sometimes but hey, can’t please all the people all the time, can you? Thanks for being lovely and writing. Keep well & happy. Love Catherine x

    Hi Catherine
I too trained to be an NLP practioner many years ago and have found that it has helped me stay positive and deal with life issues. I trained with a group of people I knew very well which was a great way to learn. I would recommed NLP courses to anyone who wants to help others and themselves, you obviously are the NLP type, some people I know just call it mumbo jumbo, but they’re not ready for it. Like Helen I have also done a coaching course which is very NLP orientated, very useful in my line of work as an education consultant. I am sure you will find it very valuable to you in a variety of situations. Well done.
    Best wishes.
    Brenda
