It's strange being back at QVC now, with so many old faces still here! Have just done my first two shows with two of my previous old favourites – Steiff Collectable Teddies, and Elemis!
Keeley – lovely as always – is in the middle of her fabulous 'Elemis Mini Series' – watch her at 9pm every night for some amazing skincare bargains. Our show on Saturday featured the whopping 100ml size of the famous Pro-Collagen Cream which is at a great Introductory Price right now – especially considering it comes with a wrinkle treatment pen! If it's still available, do check it out!
The Pro-Collagen Cream was launched during my 'missing years' as Alison Young calls them! I found myself paying full price for the 50ml pot from a posh skincare tent at a snazzy tennis event, one summer. Love the smell of this cream in particular and am sure she's having a ball with a show each night!
Steiff – what can I say! I remember doing Ian Munro's first ever airing all those years ago. Turns out he knew my brother Derek. One of his opening lines to me was – 'Last time I saw you, you were in a toga!' As it happens he was also at my brother's birthday party not long beforehand and I never knew! If I find any of the pics, I'll let you see them! (Or else they'll be best left buried! lol).
Steiff was such fun, with Ian and also with Layla – the animals we featured were really diverse – my fave's being the final item – the little Australian Shepherd dog – sooooo soft and with an unusual moveable head – sold out before we got to him! And the ride-on rocking lion! Shows like this bring back old memories, create new ones, and mean that life as a QVC presenter is never dull!
Anyway it all got me to thinking – are there any shows or people from years ago which you'd love to see on air again, or which you look forward to seeing and hate to miss? I've just got my Lulu Guinness email alert so that's one show I've got on my own favourites list – what's on yours? (Go to the home page and you can see how to sign up for your fave shows too so you'll never miss them).
I'm not on air this week, but looking forward to being back with more of my favourite hi-tech items end of next week – loved doing the fabulous Acer Touchscreen PC last weekend – well done if you got yours, you'll love it!
P.S. I am in the middle of writing a submission for this year's York Writing Festival in April. I wouldn't mind having a couple of volunteers to help read my work as I write it, if anyone's interested? It's a romance, all good Mills and Boon-type stuff, with the provisional title of 'Playboy Millionaire's Hawaiian Affair' – hehe!
