Having had a couple of weeks off at the end of August for moving house, I then got a lurgy and suddenly here we are almost at the end of September so I thought I’d do a quick catch up…
Summer holidays flew by as they always do! This year the focus was the house move! Having rented in Warwickshire for a couple of years, we fell in love with our new environment and finally found somewhere to buy. Back to packing and sorting – it’s amazing how much clutter gathers in such a short space of time!
It feels like we are getting old hats at this and of course the children loved every minute and settled into our new home instantly, although I do feel I’m constantly armed with a paint brush or roller!
Myles has now started secondary school (yes, he’s really that old already!) and life trots on at a pace! As you know, we share a love which is horse riding, something I’ve really loved getting back into these last couple of years and so we embarked upon a few local shows this summer.
Myles did really well and came first in the very first class he did which was great, despite the fact that it absolutely poured all day!
Last weekend we went to the Blenheim horse trials which is just down the road from us and loved watching the skill of world class riders do their thing, although I think the children most enjoyed the buggy shuttle from the car park!
I think my husband’s highlight of the summer was a trip to his favourite shop, Wing Yip, a Chinese supermarket in Birmingham. He absolutely loves to cook and so we bought all sorts of goodies for the freezer although I have to say that my favourite purchase was a huge bag of disposable heated towels like the airlines used to give out!!
So almost back to a semblance of normality, I tuned into QVC yesterday afternoon as I was finishing off painting the sitting room walls and ordered myself three Susan Graver tops and cheered when I saw Miceal on with my new love.
I honestly never thought I’d say it, but yes, I’ve finally made up with the ironing pile thanks to the Morphy Richards steam iron!!
Woo hoo! It gets done in the blink of an eye, so no more empty drawers and mountain of ironing staring at me from the sofa!
I’m back in next week so look forward to catching up with you on air, on Twitter or of course here.
Take care, much love
