Last Sunday we went over to Daniel’s to visit as we hadn’t seen him since before we went on holiday. He had been to Ipswich with his Crystal Palace u11’s (they won, I’m pleased to say) so I made a lasagne to take over for dinner to save him cooking for us. I also made some little chocolate cakes for dessert and, armed with two bottles of red wine, it made a very special ‘meals on wheels’.
We had brought him some ‘England’ Havaiana flip flops back from holiday and the moment they were out of the bag Wilfie was in it! He really is quite a big cat but he maneuvered his way in and settled down for a cat nap. We had a lovely evening, even though I was designated driver and had the fifty minute drive home … it was definitely worth it.
Although Milo hadn’t witnessed Wilfie in the bag it was almost as though he didn’t want to be outdone in the cat cuteness wars as, on Monday, he climbed inside one of my desk drawers while I was trying to work. He has also been sleeping in a box on top of the cupboard in the office and leaping from beam to beam in the kitchen. I’m just wondering how many of his nine lives he has already used up?
Well I hope you are enjoying Jewellery Day? It got off to a flying start with the Links of London TSV, which had all but sold out before the live hours started this morning at 9am. I’m not on at my usual 5 o’ clock slot today as I have two hours of Butler & Wilson Couture from 10pm as the finale of the day. I’m really looking forward to seeing Simon and I’m sure he will probably be dropping a few hints about the TSV he has coming up next Thursday midnight into Friday… my lips are sealed!
There isn’t a lot of Diamonique on Jewellery Day but if that’s your favourite then join me for a three-hour Christmas Spectacular on Monday from 1pm – once again, everything will be on 3 Easy Pays.
Before that though we have a Beauty Day this Sunday when my hours are OPI, Doll 10 and Lalique perfume … a few Christmas present ideas there I would think, particularly as there are now only eight shopping weekends to Christmas.
Off air it has been quite an odd week, having to ask for a refund on a mattress we took delivery of three weeks ago that had a hole in it! Thanks to the good old ‘Sale of Goods Act 1979’ I got my refund but not until I quoted it three times in an email to the company concerned.
We have also started looking for a flat for Sophie to buy now that she has been able to save a bigger deposit after living with us for a few months. I’ve had my latest hospital appointment but I won’t have the results of the blood tests for a couple of weeks and I’ve started trying to get myself a literary agent for my book … it’s all go!
Finally, I found this old Polaroid photo of me with very big hair when I was going through some loose papers in my filofax. I’m going to do a proper competition with a prize soon but, just for fun, what year do you think this photo was taken? By the way, I made the dress and the shirt I am wearing in silk I brought back from Hong Kong the first time I visited – a clue for those of you who have read One Hundred Lengths of the Pool.
Have a great weekend.
