Cars = invisibility cloaks?

Catherine with her hair rollers in Why is it that I always seem to believe that when I'm in my car I suddenly become unseen by all people in other cars, pedestrians, cyclists etc? I know I'm not the only one though.

Unusual drivers

Countless are the times I've seen someone sat right next to me at traffic lights having a good old nasal rummage as though no one can see them, just because they're inside their car! I've seen people changing their clothes, passengers not drivers I might add! I've even seen people squeezing their spots…eewww!

On Friday I had a minor operation on my foot and Steve drove me to work due to my sore stitches. Because I wasn't driving I noticed people around even more. They kept looking at me oddly. I became a little bit self-conscious wondering why people kept looking at me so I pulled down the visor mirror and it was only then that I remembered I still had a head full of rollers (see above, left)! No wonder, eh?

Catherine in a Tweety Pie costume Fancy-dress driving

I think the funniest look Steve and I sported in the car was last New Year's Eve when we went to a party as Sylvester and Tweety-Pie. Very amusing bemused looks from people who spotted us! Here's a pic of me in my cossie (right), and yes it was a head-to-toe costume!

One of my best friends, Mandy, and her husband made a mistake when they said it would be a fancy dress party at the local pub. We were almost the only people in fancy dress. Big sigh! It was much fun, though.

Over to you…

Have you ever been caught doing something embarrassing in your car? Or have you caught sight of something funny? Share it here but remember to keep it clean! Ahem!

Hello Catherine, Yes I have seen someone doing something extremely funny whilst in their car… My Son, mother and I were driving around Cardiff (after doing some serious shopping) and there was loud music coming from the car behind us, When we got to the motor way he overtook us, he was actually pretending to play the drums on his steering wheel – he even had two drumsticks!!! How strange yet amusing is that???
You wouldn’t believe the amount of people who double took when passing him… Yet there he was, completely oblivious to it all…

    Hi Sandi,
I like the idea of rollers & PJ’s as suitable attire for trawling round the supermarket! How funny. I wonder if it was one of those school/college mufti days where they can wear what they like to raise money for charity or if they just fancied raising a few eyebrows!
Sounds like you look very swish in your fab great to have a car to match your Lulu bag. I’ve never owned a convertible but today would have been a great day for it. Gorgeously sunny in the South.
Take care and enjoy your car & your Lulu, too!

Hi Catherine – great name by the way 😉
Wow, some people really do take some risks whilst driving! What on Earth was he thinking? Hopefully the next person to see him was a policeman, hee hee.
You mentioned doing some serious shopping in Cardiff. I’ve only been shopping in Cardiff once and loved it. You’ve made me want to go again. I also went to food festival one day in Cardiff. It was great! We tasted so many different things and the rain didn’t put us off as they had live music and we had champagne & strawberries. All in all cardiff seems pretty fab to me…even if you have to watch out for drumming drivers, ha.

I hope you’re keeping well..always good to hear from you.

Hi Catherine, your weight loss is fantastic – well done! I tuned in for the Diet Chef TSV but unfortunately I just can’t afford the cost at the moment. Hopefully QVC will be able to offer it in the future on Easy Pay. Love the rollers photo, you definitely suit blonde with your skin tone. Take care x

Hi Catherine, lovely to read all about you and what you get up to.
Just want to say how much I admire you hair extensions that you have been wearing sometimes, they really suit you, and are such a good match. As your hair is more of less the same colour as mine I would love to know what company and colour you chosee.
    Thanks Jackie x
