Can a girl have too many shoes?

7

Hello and how are you all doing? I’d like to start by saying thank you so much for all the wonderful encouragement and kind messages I have received over the last couple of weeks from many of you as I transition into the main channel here at QVC.

It is an exciting time and I am totally thrilled that now I am able to be in contact with even more of you to chat fashion, beauty and much more to come. I absolutely love working on all the channels, I am however very connected to the Style Channel as I have been there from day one! So in this week’s blog I thought I’d put together a fun little bit about some of my favourite shoes that I’ve collected from working at QVC from over this time. More on that later.

So what’s been happening in my world? Well let’s start with my friend and wonderful guest Clare Edmondson getting married! Very exciting indeed. Clare looked absolutely stunning in a long white flowing dress with beautiful lace detail overlaying the fabric. Her hair was swept up with pretty little flowers and Rachel, another friend of ours, from the fabulous team here – Makeup Junkies – did her make-up. Clare looked stunning! Her now husband Bronx look handsome and proud in his three piece suit too. As Clare is a talented musician there was an amazing all-female band playing all the classic dance floor hits which we had a brilliant time dancing to. I feel very lucky to have made some wonderful friends here and love working with them.

Talking of which, a few Saturdays ago I did my first Fashion Fix at 4! This is such a great show that we do at QVC. It runs on Saturday and Sunday at 4pm. I had the pleasure of having my old friend Jenny Blackhurst as my guest. Jenny and I know each other from working together on fashion and fitness shows many years ago. Jenny is both a model and one of our fashion experts here. I love working with her. The biggest challenge we have is trying to stop giggling when we are on air together. We have a tendency to be very silly when put in the same room! Here we are…well, our feet are here in our Vionic shoes.

Vionic shoes

The show is a seriously fun fashion show and runs in a very different way to the other shows we do. We have approximately eight models stood in full outfits on the studio floor all at the same time, and we then go to each model and talk about the look and how we would style it and who may want to wear the garments and for which type of occasions.

We also talk through accessories and what goes with what. As we move into the summer season I think we can have lots of fun with our bags and shoes. I find that I need lots of space for my daytime bag so a satchel like this one is perfect! It also happens to be one of this week’s Big Deal offers.

I adore Aimee Kestenberg’s designs. If you don’t know her, she is an Australian designer who learnt her trade with some of the biggest names in the business. She is huge in the States! The colour range here is so fashionable as are the designs. But to be honest you can’t go wrong with a satchel. Just choose your colour and take advantage of the Big Deal price!

As we are on the subject of fashion, and in my fashion show on Saturday I wore one of my favourite pairs of Bronx boots, this feels like the time to talk shoes! I’m going to share with you now that I am a self-confessed shoe fanatic! I always have been and in this respect I am the carbon copy of my late grandma. She loved a shoe with a heel as she was a petite little lady. She kept all her shoes in the boxes neatly stacked up which as a child I thought was like being in your very own shoe shop! Haha. To this day I still have a pair of her shoes that are from the 80s.

Something very few people know is that I too now put many of shoes in boxes to keep them in good condition… uh oh I can see a pattern here : )

For me, shoes, boots, sandals, trainers are all about expressing your style and comfortability too. I love wearing my Skechers Street trainers with dresses or my Bronx boots with wide-leg trousers like the Kim & Co jumpsuit from the Fashion Fix at 4 pic. In the summer I wear lots high heeled sandals from Ravel. Currently I’m a bit in love with the new high top with snake print from Vionic.

What are your favourite brands? I’d love to know, drop me a message here or Tweet, Insta or FB message me.

I shall leave you with a little heads up on the rest of this week’s Big Deals.

Big Deal

The Decleor five-piece collection  is an absolute dream as you can see from this clip.

Finally, I know you will love this offer from Yankee Candle as it’s all about wonderful fragrance and creating an atmosphere. I do love a scented candle!

That’s all from me for now. Have a great week and see you all very soon!

Love
Eilidh

Hi Eilidh, you are a breath of fresh air on the main qv c channel. Think I could match you on the shoe collection front as I, too, have so many. I keep mine in boxes like you do and it’s a lovely surprise to go through the pile now and then rediscovering my favourites! I particularly like Rieker for soft leather, style and comfort plus Clark’s, Skechers etc. Hope qv c give you a chance to present shoe programmes, too.

Hello Chrissie, thank you for getting in touch with your lovely message. I’m glad I’m in good company with keeping shoes in boxes! 🙂 You’re so right about it being a little surprise when you rediscover your old favs.
I did a Clark’s shoe show this week in fact – there are some gorgeous wedges for summer.
I hope you have had a good week. Bestest wishes Eilidhx

Hi Eilidh, it’s Chrissie again! Really appreciate you took the time to respond when you are
such a busy working girl. I shall look out for you now on any shoe hours coming up. Re shoes (our favourite topic), much as I like the look of them, I’m afraid high heels and wedges aren’t comfy enough for me these days as I mature and not really suitable for living in a very rural area of Cornwall. However, I did treat myself recently to a beautiful pair of low-heeled slingbacks by Rieker in pretty cornflower blue interlaced with a metallic sheen – really comfortable, soft leather. So glad qv c had these back in stock as they sell out so quickly each time. Maybe you might try them yourself, ideal for the glorious weather we’re having. Bye for now ……C.
