What a fabulous week of birthday celebrations I had! Friends and family lunches, suppers and theatre trips! How fab!
I had such a lovely lot of days out – I went ‘out out’ almost every day or night across the weekend and over my birthday. Almost makes me not so unhappy to be just turned 54! Not that I feel it, apart from the morning after my birthday. No it wasn’t the alcohol. Yes it was the syrup sponge pudding I had some of – one or two spoonfuls too much tho! Lol. Above is the pic from the lunch on Wednesday in Birmingham. But first here’s what else I did first.
Me and my pal Gill my mate is so lovely, and always cares so much – everyone should have a Gill – have you got one?! Lulu Guinness’ bestie is called Gill too… With a G. (info about Lulu Guinness upcoming offer is below.)
And then there were five… Lauren came over with her two crazy spaniels and we went for this walk in the woods. Little black Luna went mad when she found the stream – bouncing like Tigger she was! Took a good twenty mins to dry her afterwards tho! Luv them. All five of them, including my three flabradors!
Theatre pals Then on Monday it was off to have supper around the corner from Les Miserables before we went to watch the performance. Always nice to catch up with this little band of mates, all helping me with the June 12th fundraising day! (see below)
Sibling Luv Here’s a pic of me and my siblings – we all went to see the ‘End of Longing’, along with others incl Brad and Lauren etc. Lovely evening out for sure! Next time we won’t leave it so late to have dinner. But Boyds, in Grand Hotel, do a lovely pre-theatre meal so we took advantage! And here’s the big family group – thanks to the waiting team for putting up with us all, I was the woman with the balloon! Ta to everyone for my cards too – most cards for years! Xx
Birmingham Contingent Then Natalie Jarrett, June Ward and co invited me and Marv up to Birmingham for a nice lunch. They met mainly on Facebook and have now become friends – so many superb support groups and community groups to join in on – (see my list here). Thanks Nat and June!
Winner of SBC comp! Well done to Theresa who has won the super set of SBC gels in last week’s competition. Another big one soon! And more about SBC’s upcoming Today’s Special Value offer next week, is below. Meanwhile, here’s a super bargain from SBC – ‘Last Clicks’ so it’s not going to be there forever so get it now!
Long Drive whilst travelling to Birmingham I had the most horrible traffic. It should have taken me about four and bit hours, but it took six and a half to get there and back from Dorking! EEEk!
Countdown to the June 12th Event in Dorking – pls come! How lovely if you could join us – vintage teas and table top sale, QVC guests coming along including Abi from Ultrasun with her skin analysis machine, Tom from Alpha H and Patrick from Quacker amongst others! We will have the first big online mega draw too – so anyone can take part even if you don’t come to the event. More here.
FAB Research Event in Sheffield lots were saying they like to hear about local events, so here’s another reminder of the best way of meeting the experts about health. They had a big feature this week about omega threes being a possible future treatment saving tons of money in treatment of heart issues. Well this chat is all about how omega threes are absolutely brilliant for all types of issues, so do go watch Dr Alex Richardson explain all, in person – starts teatime on Tues 17th. More here.
Newsletter and website updates – this week on my website you can read more about the omega three feature as mentioned above, on Back to You blog. Plus Book of the week is a freebie from talented author Rosie Dean – on Read it Write it Sell it blog. Plus here’s the summary of info about the Medical Detection Dogs upcoming events. AND my regular website newsletter which summarises what I’ve been up to – sign up here, or read it here. And do check out the latest testimonial about my semi-autobiographical weight loss book Till the Fat Lady Slims, below…
Facebook funny – considering we have a bit of a gardening theme this week! Lol
Watch – Les Miserables What a fabulous week for seeing great theatre productions. Not only the End of Longing but also one of the biggest success stories of the West End, ever! Of course the movie was brilliant too. Look at this pic – can you see where we were? Apparently row A in the circle is a top seat choice – ‘restricted view’ isn’t really restricted with this perf, and restricted leg room is fine for little short-legs here!
Anyway it’s a phenomenal film too – here’s the trailer. Do go see it if you haven’t – OMG the stars! And spot Eddie Redmayne too. Brilliant at the theatre and brilliant on film.
