Just a quickie right now to encourage you to watch our annual Breast Cancer Care event, which is being shown on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 7pm for three hours.
It will be full of fun, laughs and loads of energy, but also some more poignant moments – we rarely get through the whole show without a few tears!
I was lucky enough to attend the live event last Wednesday, and went behind the scenes to interview some of the models who have all been diagnosed with breast cancer (you can see them during the Wednesday evening show).
They were amazing – looked like professional models and had the day of their lives. It's an incredibly positive, uplifting day, but emotional too.
The emotion was ramped up even more in the evening, when Ali Keenan gave the most eloquent, moving, funny and heart-rending speech. Her delivery was perfect, except that she had to keep stopping while we clapped her. Then came the end, with a standing ovation and we just wouldn't stop clapping and cheering her.
She had put into words what so many women, and men, who have coped with breast cancer and its cruel treatments have felt, but haven't quite known how to express.
Almost everyone had tears running down their faces, a lump in their throat and a hugely full feeling in their heart.
You can see her speech in full on our website, and also on our facebook page and there will probably be an edited version shown on the Wednesday evening show, but better than that – Ali is back for the first time since she started her treatment.
She will be with Simon, Debbie, Claire and Craig to take you through what promises to be a spectacularly brilliant and busy show. I'm sorry not to be there myself, but someone has to get up early to bring you the Morning Show!
I hope you catch at least some of our BCC event, and also manage to join me at 9am Tuesday to Friday for my regular morning slot.
Take care, and be aware, show you care.
